FDA Cracking Down on Online Sperm Donor

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says a California man who has fathered 14 children through sperm donation is breaking the law, and its trying to stop him from making further donations, KPIX reported

Trent Arsenault, of Fremont, Calif., as a “manufacturer of human cells,” since he has fathered 14 children.

I saw a documentary on one that had fathered 72. Imagine if two of the children meet not knowing they are related, get married and have children together? I hope all the mothers are honest with this new generation of children.

I get they want to change him with something but ..come on... we all make human cells. Not sure why they care even to stop him from donating . He isnt forcing anyone to use it. As odd as it may be. Isnt there something about regulating transporting biological fluids ?

What about all the one night stands that happen that no one knows who's related to whom?

It has an ick factor for sure, but legally???? If there's no law against it - I hate seeing government intervention.

When I worked at the hospital they put out a request for sperm donations and were going to pay for them. I called and left a message. I figured why not turn a hobby into a money making endeavor, but they never called me back. :cry:

This can happen (and in fact had happened on a number of occasions) without sperm donation.
