In Europe women have been doing the "no period" thing for decades, using the pills already available. There have been no reports of widespread problems other than the usual risks of taking the pill at all.

One downside to this is you have no way of knowing if you are pregnant (accidents do happen). You never have periods so you wouldn't know if you are 'late' or missed a period due to pregnancy. You would have to wait until other symptoms of pregnancy develop and you may not find out you are pregnant until you are several weeks along. Meanwhile you could be unknowingly exposing the developing fetus to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, prescription medications, etc. I'm on the pill and it has never failed me, but I do breathe a sigh of relief every month when Aunt Flow shows up, knowing that the pill has done it's job. :D

There is definitely that relaxation factor! :-) The pill has never failed me, either - but there sure are cases where 99% effective just doesn't seem like enough!
