Federal Investigation of Suffolk County Police Chief

Just great how the probation violating felon gets wonderful treatment and consideration while the life long public servant gets smeared with one allegation slightly more vile than the last, all with no facts to back them up, by one guy looking to get out of a prison sentence and another with an admitted axe to grind. A fact or two to back up this stuff would be nice.

1. first off the guy has not yet violated his probation. The courts had not yet decided he did as late as one week before he was arrested. But I will concede that he did violate his probation.

2. the guy never made a complaint against this wonderful 'life long public servant.' If one wants to follow the obvious they would come to the reasonable conclusion it was other 'life long public servants' that brought this to the attention of the authorities, so many that the charges couldn't be ignored.

3. Anyone that can read between the lines knows this isn't about a cop beating up a suspect, it is WHY he beat him up.

4. Who said there are no facts to back up this up? The detectives involved in this fiasco are testifying before the grand jury, probably as we speak.

5. Where does it say the fellow is giving information to stay out of prison. And so what if he is. SCPD, in particular, Burke does this all the time if they want to jack someone up to frame them. Would you like me to post the records of the plea agreements a Joe Careccia, David Cipkin, and Jake Feinberg copped out to 'to stay out of prison.' 200 years would be a conservative estimate.

6. Feinberg was arrested and forced to plead to an armed robbery. He was forced to do so because Burke's detectives caught him dirty while he was on probation. They caught him red handed with drugs and high. He signed the agreement NOT to be even arrested, and guess what he did: He got arrested again for the exact same charges in Queens a month later . AND he was NOT violated. He is now dead because Spota didn't violate him and he, for some reason never was detected with drugs in his body when he made his appearances to probation.

7. The suspect had 1/2 million bail set on him, for what?

8. The FBI took the kid out of the County jail and placed him in a federal lock-up as a material witness.

You have been telling us this guy Burke was a with a badge and questionable character forever. You were right - looks like he lost his cool this time and finally got caught. Hopefully the Feds were just waiting for him to screw up. I just want to know if he was placed on admin leave during this investigation. Probably not.
Seems this kid's mother is the real whistleblower. Hope the Feds are keeping him and his Mom safe. I'm scared of JB and SCPD and I'm in Cali. It's not even funny. I would be really afraid if I lived in Suffolk county. I wondered why Dormer got the hell out. Seems you were right in every way Hawk.

I think the FEDS have turned a blind eye towards this Burke fellow. And I can't possibly imagine why. I have always been told the FEDS need a pile of complaints before they act.

My information is this is really all about child being in that bag that Loeb took. Needless to say when I heard that I was not in the least surprised.

No, he hasn't been placed on administrative leave. This gives him the opportunity to line up his loyalists. He has a very big assignment he has to do before he is curtailed. He needs to apply Bellone's make-up and eyeliner.

Call this investigation: OPERATION TWINX. Sooner than later you will find out why I dubbed it so.

You better wake up LIN. In this country a jury verdict is no better than an old fashioned lynching party. Guilty of innocent makes no difference to me because it is ALL Bulls#t. I have seen more than enough of them to know that it is BS.

308 people have been exonerated of high crimes with DNA evidence. in 78 of those cases the wrongfully convicted gave a confession. 308 cases X 12 jurors, do the math and see how reliable a jury verdict is. And that is only the very tip of that horror show.

In this country the defendant is PRESUMED guilty before he even goes to trial.

Why don't they just open up his IAB file, if it is still intact and tell me what you think he is capable of. He is capable of most anything.

Three unsuspecting cops came to the trial and were astonished when their former boss lied in giving testimony. They were shocked, and one guy said, My, God, they are railroading Ray, this could happen to any one of us. Shortly, thereafter they were terrorized into silence by their former boss and then the police commissioner.

Hawkshaw, in your opinion has anyone who's been found guilty by a jury of his peers ever actually been guilty? In your opinion, is there a deviant sexual perversion that JB isn't involved in? Of course I believe people found guilty by a jury are for the most part guilty. I would put it at 90%. Some are guilty of something, but not what they were charged with. Many that are guilty and got a not guilty verdict are as guilty as sin.

The last time I was on a panel the defense lawyer asked me if I thought I could give her client a fair trial. I told her I would try to do the best humanely possible. I thought the defendant was guilty just by seeing him sitting there.

Anybody that tells you they can give an absolute fair trial to a defendant is a LIAR 99% of the time.

The whole process of picking a jury is to try to NOT have a fair trial and that includes both sides of the aisle.

MCME - If you think I mocked you for the 'public servant' remark so be it. I did not intend to mock you personally. The idea anyone would call this bum a 'lifelong public servant' is an abomination. When did he start on his path to good citizenship? When he 'came' in to offer evidence against his young friends in the Pius Case. Mr.Spota called him a good citizen. He came in with his pal Danny, a now convicted burglar and armed robber. One of the kids he came in for told me Danny and Jimmy were as 'thick as thieves' Well we know Danny is a thief. We know Jimmy and Danny lived next to each other. We also know their neighborhood suffered with scores of burglaries during that time when Good Citizen Burke lived there.

Having served Federal jury duty, let me just say, I've met my "peers" and I hope I'm never on trial for a crime because these people SCARE me!!

Is it true a victim of a crime is disqualified from serving jury duty in NYC? I have alot of hostility towards the DAs office.

I was on three selection panels and was rejected in all of them. 1. A federal civil rights case where the plaintiff was suing The Town of Freeport for unlawfully seizing his property. The lawyer for the plaintiff knew me. 2. A NC accident case. I knew the expert witness for the plaintiff. 3. A county criminal case.

I have never had the experience of serving on a jury. It is probably the most awesome responsibility a citizen can have if they serve on a jury and decide the fate of another human being. I can tell you that if I am selected to serve on a criminal case the prosecution better be prepared to give proof of guilt BEYOND ANY DOUBT.

I was a cop for 29 years and I put my share of people sitting at the defense table. But being a juror goes way beyond that.

You just don't put your finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing to make your decision. Many people do just that. Many people that serve on criminal juries are there because they want to be there. Most are there to convict; some are there to acquit.

The man sitting next to me in the jury box told me he has been on 5 criminal juries. How the heck could he possibly do that. How many of you good folks have been on 1 jury, let alone 5.

When walking back to the Central Jury room I walked with another 'reject'. He told me if he was picked he would believe whatever the cops testified to. Unbelievable.

I worked on a case where a police officer was shot. He survived. I was part of the team that apprehended the suspect. I was there when he was interrogated. I didn't believe then and I don't believe now he did it. He was a very bad guy, a Manhattan drug dealer, but I am confident he didn't shoot the cop.

Some years later I am doing another case canvassing buildings. I get to this woman's apartment. She tells me she was the forelady in the case I mentioned above. She told me she voted for conviction because when the shot cop testified the suspect sneered. That was the basis for her guilty verdict. I told her I believed the guy didn't do it. I asked her did she ever think the defendant was sneering because the cop lied?

The cop stops on the parkway in the middle of the morning to assist a motorist in distress. The motorist shoots the cop in the chest. The cop goes unconscious. He was able to identify this individual months later. I would be surprised if the officer even remembers being shot and woke up in the hospital asking where am I and why am I here?

After being witness in the trial of my SIL I can no longer have faith in any jury. Trust me this isn't based on a bias, it is based on fact.

Any one of a dozen lies proven at trial was worthy of an acquittal.

When he was sentenced two jurors took the time to come to court to view the sentencing. They each got a hug and a smile from the prosecutor. The ugly one was the most offensive of the two.

What kind of person comes to court to witness a lynching of another person, be they guilty or not? Only an animal would do such a thing. May the jury burn in hell for an eternity, especially that fat ugly one. But God seems to have punished her by letting her live in her ugly body.
