Don't get me wrong hon, I agree, we should not be so hyper-sensitive but, face it, due to the nature of this case and the "input" we are receiving from various sources, it is entirely understandable why we are.

I wish we could all be un-biased and not affected but we are human and as such, we are flawed...and so the spin doctors can work their magic....

We should all be as "clear" as you are docwho3 (and I mean that in a most complimentary way...really).
Thanks for the kind words. You do have a point, people are human and the emotions do run high in such cases. Thanks also for understanding that I was not intending to be offensive in stating my opinion on the subject.

On another note, I really appreciate the news links and other online info you have found concerning this case. I have used some of the links in posts and have tried to make sure to give you credit for finding the links. Keep up the good work. :)

I have noticed....ahhhhh, mutual admiration society....

Thanks for the "nod".

Hopefully this might clear up some of the confusion we have regarding fact or fiction.

Sky News is to air a special half-hour programme on Sunday, September 30, on the search for missing Madeleine McCann.

Crime correspondent Martin Brunt will try to separate fact from fiction as he looks into the police investigation, the many theories and where the inquiry will go from here.

"We hope to unravel some of the speculation and theories behind the case during the half-hour special programme and separate fact from fiction."

A web version of the programme will be available on Sky News Online on the same day.

I think the only facts in this case are in the prosecutors hand, until that is released everything is supposition, except that the parents left their children alone, we have discussed a lot of theories, gut feelings etc but that is all they are.
My gut feeling is the McCanns are guilty of child endangerment of their three children and the death of one of their children, whether accidental or not.

I doubt it. Half hour is too short and he is one of the reporters putting it out there to begin with.

Sounds like tv money making and everyone will come out with what they went in with

Kool Look,

As I understood it the point of the program is to try to sort through all the specualion and see if they can separate the known facts from all the rumors.
At this point I think it could be very helpful.

I hope you're right. However, since the Portugese police refuse to answer any questions, I don't see how they (the television show) can possibly report anything as "fact."

Jeana,
I realize they won't know all the facts. But there are contradictions on many points. They may be able to throw some light on the some of the "rumors" for us.
I hope so, but time will tell.

I give a lot of weight to the fact that they've kept her disappearance in the public eye for over three months. There's only so much the parents can physically do, but keeping this info out there and all over the world helps. Too many missing kids fall off the radar within weeks.

I don't believe the parents deserve all the credit for her name being in the media. It caught the publics attention firsst and foremost due to the fact of the parents choice to leave three young babies alone while they partied. If they hadn't done that, been doctors, I doubt it would be this big to begin with.

There's nothing more important than looking for Maddy. Nothing.

I agree, and I hope that there's a solid break in this case SOON.

I truly believe Maddie is not too far from the hotel. I think search efforts need to be stepped up and then let the chips fall where they may. This is a little girl not a media, pedestal, world changing event but someone who needs to be found and the respect paid to her for the short life that she lived.

What makes you think she's not too far from the hotel, CP? I read that the police didn't do anything with the borders until the next morning. She could have been taken pretty far in that amount of time. :(

It is a personal belief without a basis. Call it a hunch. I think she is buried somewhere nearby. What police did or did not do would not have changed Maddie's fate that night. JMO.

I tend to see Kate as strung tight. I think she struck out that night and regretted it and sought repentence.I think absolution was granted to her and she took it literally. I hate that I think this. I would hope to be proven wrong. But nothing has changed my opinion yet.

I agree with the line I put in bold.

Thanks for explaining what you meant. Now I see why you believe her to be close.

We are NOT sure she IS dead. They should be searching for her period.

Excellent post. BUT ;) even though I lean towards parent responsibility here we don't know for sure she is dead, we don't know what happened... and the last words there reading them stated that way, so definite, it gave me chills. There is so much misinformation the more I read the more I can't accept anything going on. We have no flippin clue about anything, we certianly don't know if Maddie is dead or alive. Do we?

She needs to be found, no matter what. This we ALL agree on.

So many do.

AMEN to that. GREAT post.

Interesting interview with Dr Baden on Greta yesterday.

He said they would have known within ten minutes of testing "Madeleine's" hair found in the car whether it was from a live Madeleine or a dead Madeleine.
Do the Portuguese police already know this?
They have said they don't know whether Madeleine is dead.

I know some things are still being tested but If Dr Baden is right the hair test wouldn't have taken this long.
