Fired Michigan coach Sherrone Moore in police custody after dismissal.

According to university policy, a supervisor may not initiate or attempt to initiate an intimate relationship with someone over whom they exercise supervisory authority. But the relationship wasn’t the only issue that triggered complaints about Moore.

At least two other women told university officials that Moore had made unwanted advances toward them online, the person familiar said.

ugh, hadn't seen that thanks.

Some thoughts on that. First of all, Schefter is a sports reporter not a crime reporter, so his focus is on how these events affect college football. He's not really concerned about the actual consequences that the victim faces. Second, a lot of sports reporting is about maintaining relationships. I'm not saying Schefter did anything unethical, but by carrying water for Moore, he may have put himself in good graces with someone important who could give him a scoop down the line. Third, Schefter is a UofM grad, and has a reputation of being something of a homer.
Oh, ok.
That makes sense, thanks for clarifying !

The magistrate tells Sherrone Moore he is not to use alcohol, marijuana or any other substance that's not prescribed to him when out on bond. He must wear a GPS tether, continue all mental health treatment, and have no contact with the woman.

Sherrone Moore's next hearing is on Jan. 22, 2026.

Do you think that the girlfriend has grounds for a lawsuit? Personally, I think I would have looked for another job because of the toxic environment. But then, she got that huge raise….

JMO, IMO, MOO!
Certainly. She was a subordinate and there was an unequal power balance. The rumors have been that he was stalking her at the end so she had perhaps called it off, which is difficult since he is her boss. So that is perhaps clear cause of action. She can keep it in court, but she may not get a lot since a jury may say she was involved in starting it. But then there is firing mess. Allegedly she changed her story and told the university what was going on and the AD pulled Moore in immediately and fired him. The AD had also allegedly been told Moore was unstable. That put the gf at risk and look what happened. The AD handled this very poorly and is lucky the girl wasn't injured or killed.

I found the wording in an earlier release from the university interesting. In post #10 above from @Chimera ….. the university stated I believe publicly ‘additional evidence came to light in the last 24 hours that led to Moore's dismissal.'

IMO that terminology is troubling. And leads me to conclude it might be a way of acknowledging there was some prior awareness available. And one has to wonder what was known, when, and what was done when or not done IMO? Time will tell.
The story floating around on college football sites is that Moore was advised (unsure of by whom) that the rumors about him and his assistant were bringing a lot of negative attention to the program so they should fire her. He agreed and she was let go. Then - as the most predictable reaction possible - she immediately brought evidence of the affair to the AD’s office.

The prosecutor during Sherrone Moore’s arraignment lays out some pretty damaging details regarding his arrest and the charges.

The prosecutor says Moore and the victim, allegedly his executive assistant, had an intimate relationship for a number of years. According to the prosecutor, the victim broke up with Moore on Monday morning. Moore continued to call and text the victim. She ignored them. She then told University of Michigan officials, who fired Moore on Wednesday.

The prosecutor says Moore then went to the victim’s apartment, barged his way inside and grabbed several butter knives and a pair of kitchen scissors and began to threaten his own life. “I’m going to kill myself,” the prosecutor alleges Moore said to victim. “I’m going to make you watch. My blood is on your hands. You ruined my life.”
Emphasis mine.
Oh, piffle. He did this to himself.
Still wonder how much the college knew is this went on for a number of years.

Will there be any more women who come forward? I wonder.

Already have, see my post # 61.
Consider the source but it looks like the woman came forward publicly ?

More from SM's arraignment:

The prosecutor says that Sherrone Moore and the woman had an intimate relationship for a number of years. "Our victim broke up with the defendant on Monday morning. She presented herself to (the school) and corroborated the fact they had a relationship."

She says that Sherrone Moore went to the woman's house, grabbed butter knives and kitchen scissors and threatened to kill himself, threatened her that "my blood is on your hands."

Sherrone Moore's attorney says that he lives in the community, retained local counsel and is "not a danger to the public."

Not defending because I don't know what occurred but IMO, the absence of HR suggests to me that it wasn't an expected firing, that it was expected to be a closed door conversation. I'm going to assume that it went badly and it was clear where things were headed, effectively fired but not technically fired.

Then cometh the arrest and the termination was effected in absentia.

She did not 'ruin his life'; he did.

Thankfully desperation did not end in any loss of life.

This could have been much, much worse.

Her family still has a daughter, his children still have a father.

Which is way more than we can say for most of the cases on these threads.

The prosecutor states that the victim was in a relationship with Sherrone Moore for “a number of years” but broke it off Monday and disclosed the relationship to UM. Moore came to the victim’s residence and threatened suicide with “several butter knives and a pair of scissors.”

They already had evidence of the affair so I’m not sure about it being an unexpected firing. Perhaps the AD was giving him the option to resign instead of being fired? I’d still expect HR presence for that though.

Washtenaw County prosecutor says Sherrone Moore is alleged to have broken into the woman's residence, grabbed some butter knives and threatened to harm himself, telling the alleged victim she would have to watch.

"She was terrorized," prosecutor said.

Sherrone Moore will be released on $25,000 bond. He is ordered to not have contact with the victim or go to her residence. He must continue all mental health treatment. He cannot leave the state w/o permission. Also will have GPS tether, which he agreed to with his attorney.

Security should have been placed at his office door, the firing should have occurred in a different room/office and there should have been a representative from legal and HR present.

For those who don’t follow college football, there is another very interesting angle at play with this story. Michigan was caught stealing other teams’ signals in an illegal off campus scouting operation. One of the largest scandals of the century for college football. The NCAA handed down a few penalties but Michigan basically received a slap on the wrist, especially considering they won a national championship during the period of time they were cheating.

As expected, most staff members played dumb and they were able to largely paint this as actions by a rogue staff member. Who later destroyed his phone and laptop. The head coach at the time, and Coach Moore, received sanctions for “failure to monitor” but, it essentially ended as a “he said, she said” situation about who knew what and how involved the coaches are. However,
Moore was caught deleting texts before the NCAA asked to search his phone for evidence.

All of this to say, there are plenty of reasons why this athletic department, and athletic director, were incentivized to protect Moore.

Tsk, tsk, Sherrone.
You had it all compared to many of us who work hard at our jobs, and are never offered an opportunity like that.
And you basically threw it away.
Smh.

He's going to be untouchable by any colleges, no one is going to hire him now !
If his wife is planning to leave him and is boxing up his belongings and filing paperwork for child support and alimony, no one would blame her.
He may be out of a job now but was making a good amount, hopefully she will take him for as much as she can.
Again he has treated her and his young kids disgracefully; unfortunately those little ones will grow up with this hanging over them.

An
OnlyFans model has claimed that disgraced Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore had 'slid into' her DMs prior to his shocking arrest and sacking.

On Wednesday, Moore was sacked for an 'inappropriate relationship' with a staffer and, just hours later, was detained for assault at an apartment complex in Ann Arbor.

Pittsfield Police responded to the apartment
on the 3000 block of Ann Arbor Saline Road at 4.10pm Wednesday, just moments before it was publicly announced that Moore was fired from his $6 million-per-year coaching job.

Here in this article ^^^ it looks like Sherrone had even more people he misused ?

Ironically if he'd quietly accepted his firing and walked away he might have been hired by another college !

But no, he had to go and threaten a lady with a knife.
I'm starting to think he did break in very forcefully, and maybe the cops saw evidence, just that it's not public yet.
Did Sherrone kick the door in ?
Break a window ?

There's a reference to some kind of social interactions with P. Diddy as well ?
From the DM article :

"Moore, back in 2018, claimed he attended an event held by disgraced music mogul P Diddy...."

Imo.

Maybe she had a ring camera on the outside of her apartment and there is video (or witnesses hearing it) of him kicking in the door.

It’s also fairly rare for college football coaches to be fired for cause. Essentially, this was a 14 million dollar conversation. It’s absurd HR and general counsel were not present.
