First ever homicide at Burning Man - Vadim Kruglov, 37, reported missing at festival days after he was found murdered

  • #41

From the article :
"...'She was very calm and said to us that someone in her tent was bleeding out and might be dead,' the witness, whose identity was withheld, told the magazine.

The bystanders asked the woman if she had checked Kruglov's pulse, but she reportedly said she 'didn't want to touch him'...."

Well obviously (and imo) LE need to find this person if they haven't yet and speak with her !
The bystanders might have a description.
Omo.

If the victim was indeed found deceased in a woman's tent, I think she had some explaining to do...
Ita.
What, did she just walk in and find him ?
Maybe an altercation ?
Imo.

That Daily Mail article is talking about festival attendees noting some unhinged man going about that night, claiming he had a knife & had to wash blood out in his RV.

That's what I would picture, honestly. Almost like a mass killing attempt with a knife but the killer's not lucid enough (or maybe the opposite, had a lucid moment) and struck a single victim. But what creeps me out especially about this is, with that theory the killer can't be "that" crazy because he's got the RV, and unless he's with someone driving for him, he's driving an RV; and he can navigate the RV through an extremely, extremely large event over expansive terrain. Crazy or calculating? Or both? Did the killer trip out on drugs and go into a temporary state of madness?

Another concern is how diverse the group of festival attendees was that reported this unhinged guy. Were there multiple reports from unrelated parties?

RIP.

A couple of weeks ago, I had no clue what "Burning Man" was. It came across my SM feed, so I did some research. I thought the concept was interesting, and even envisioned myself participating. It's a shame what happened here with Vadim. I hope they figure out what happened to him.

I am likely much older than you and yet I heard a lot about "Burning Man" festival. On the other hand, I never heard about the victim of the recent murder that shook the
country. It demonstrates nothing except for the fact that the existing "news algorithms" are primitive and perhaps, there is a more interesting way for the informatics to develop.

Well, "the Burning Man" it is a mega- event and it just has had its first murder. RIP Vadim. For his friends and relatives, but also for the state of Nevada it is important to solve the crime. The timing of it was a huge limiting factor as the festival was closing. It is hard. Wishing them the best.

If you think the concept is interesting then you must go. It's a big bucket list item. But remember, the logistics are not for the faint of heart. :)

I hope this wasn't a politically motivated crime. Everything in the news with Ukraine/Russia... if someone had a grudge with Russia or was worked up by news stories, might've taken it out on this poor man.

I truly hope this isn't the case... Maybe mental health related crime, I just hope they find the culprit! Someone must know or have seen something.

Hard to believe we're this far in and still apparently nothing.

Well. Everyone up and leaves at the end of the party. No surprise.

I am hoping they got some DNA in some form for a lead to someone who may have ANY info. Even if they are not the killer, they might have pertinent info.

This is a true needle in a haystack.

Fingers crossed LE is working on the case and we just don't know about any progress yet. I remain hopeful (while also concerned this will turn cold).

I went to Burning Man 8 times in my 20’s. It boggles my mind how they could even secure a crime scene in that environment. That is a harsh environment with massive crowds

Also, there are so many forms of law enforcement there. One of the last times I went, I met some people while we were dancing at a sound camp. One of them lit a joint and the police instantly came out of nowhere and detained him and issued a ticket. This was pre-legalization. There were always rumors of under cover officers everywhere and police with night vision. If there was an unhinged person making threats I would have imagined the police would have dealt with it quickly.

Black Rock City is the third largest city in Nevada for a week every year. Yes, there are all sorts of crime as you would expect with that many people, but murder is just insane to me.

I’m stunned and saddened.

Not only was there a murder, but an unexpected delivery of a baby this year! Another thing I could never imagine! Giving birth in an RV at burning man! Sounds like mom and baby are good! Phew!

Whoah LE found the weapon! A kitchen knife, awful :( There has to be DNA on it, I'm hoping.

The Pershing County Sheriff's Office says a kitchen knife found next to Vadim Kruglov was used in the killing of the 37-year-old at Burning Man.

"It appears the injury was caused by a single stab wound to the victim's neck," according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office sent a picture of a chef's knife that was green as an example of what found at the crime scene.

Pretty distinctive imo. You would know if this knife was missing from home.

And it might jog someone's memory. There might be people who didn't witness the crime, but did notice that knife in someone's camp or rv, etc.

Hope sharing this image moves the investigation along!

I hope hope they find the suspect as well.
I have a couple of friends who just "live" for this event each year.
Extraordinary international event, actually. imo

Would love to go to this event, agreed. I didn't even know it existed until I was looking at a woman's death in Wadsworth (which predates this one) wondering if it might be connected to the event. (Wadsworth is a major stop on the way for many to this event.)

Big events always, always have problems. It's not the event itself jmo, it's the scope. Could have happened anywhere, at any event of similar size/scope.

From home or an RV from the festival. I am hoping witnesses come forward if they recognize seeing that knife as someone's camp, tent or RV. Horrific.

Exactly, the sheer volume of all types of people these attract... Not to mention these events always tend to bring people (weirdos) out of the woodwork!

I don't mean just this festival, I feel like big events in general can always attract some oddballs. More people = more problems. JMO MOO

My big events, concert/festival days are over lol... I had my time in the 90s/00s and don't like big crowds anymore. With random violence now, it sucks to have to worry about it :(
