Fortunately, CNN is on the case, and had their audio specialist isolate the 1.6 seconds involved, modify it so background noise was removed, and played it back. And while the CNN anchor involved declined to state definitively whether the slur was used, both the editor and the anchor said it sounded an awful lot like it was, especially when the word alone was isolated. Mediaite discovered the segment and linked it. You can watch and decide for yourself below:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/cnn...mmerman-911-call-racial-slur-now-very-likely/

I posted this in the other thread..I believe this is very clear here..I hear it clearly...according to this the police claim they missed this...

Please listen and let me know if you hear what I do hear and it's a C...
I just listened and ther is no doubt in my mind. GZ said effing *oons.....Arrest Zimmerman now!!!!!!!!! IMHO JMHO and all that

Okay...the girlfriend's story...doesn't matter to me. She doesn't even have to tell a story. She can sit there and not say one thing.

The fact that Trayvon was even on the phone speaks volumes. He was not planning a sneak attack on George Zimmerman while talking aloud. He did not sneak up behind George Zimmerman while he was talking on the phone. He was not casing houses while he was on the phone. He wasn't paying attention to George Zimmerman while at the outset, and the phone call proves that.

The phone records are more important than anything the girlfriend has to say, IMO.

I do believe her though. Didn't she tell what happened before the police leak?

He went out to get milk.
what did he need a weapon for?
He did not know he may need it or not.
You can tell I am anti guns.

Well you never know when you will have to defend yourself. Unfortunately, crime is unpredictable. I feel he had his gun with him to protect himself in case he needed to. Better to have it and not need it imo

May I quote your post......"means nothing in this case". Thanks for sharing but this man could have easily been white, asian, etc. There have been plenty of fugitives that ran from crimes and were discovered years later living a civil, peaceful and reformed life. ***** happens and some people learn from their mistakes they just don't want to pay for them. jmo

I agree, and if the law does find them, they are toast.
But just because some act like a gentleman, does not mean that they are.
A gentle man is not only he who knows how to be polite.

So often we read a story where a 4 year old called 911 THAT IS INSPIRING.
she is 17.

She is 16. And why would she call 911 for something she is not witnessing and probably is not sure exactly where it's happening?

I hope you are not saying as long as you are licensed to carry,
why not carry?
I have diplomats in my family with a license to carry.
but they do not carry all the time. in fact they rarely do.

Honestly, i believe he thought it wouldnt get this far and it would just "all blow over" so to speak. He didnt expect to see himself on video and that he would have to explain himself. His story kept changing as more details of the evening were released or leaked. Which make it a little bit hard to believe his version of events. We arent privy to what exactly happened that night. From what we know Mr. Zimmerman has put a story out there that is just too hard to prove. Maybe he has other things we havent seen like pics of his injuries or more complete 911 call exists that we havent heard that more clearly describes his recollection of events. I dont believe he originally intended to kill trayvon that night. I believe he wasnt gonna let another "punk" get away, and he didnt.

BBM. But as I understand it, he doesn't have to prove it. The state has to disprove it.

IANAL, JMO, OMO, and :moo:

AGAIN if 4 year olds know to dial 911 she should too. 16-17 not huge difference.
Some crazy dude is following BF, phone goes dead, she assumes something happened.
And then what ?????
911 can find the pings and know where he is.

Nop I do not believe her account of what happend.

Well, so, a strange guy is walking down your street with hands in his pockets, looking like TM with the grill, not TM the 12 year old pilot, 6 foot 3 in baggy clothes and you're going to be thinking, gee, what a nice guy? C'mon! REALLY? Everyone would be terrified! I would have been! Sorry if that makes me a racist. I would have been terrified by anyone that fit that description, regardless of race!

Terrified of how typical young people look? My kids look like this. My DD and her husband are bankers and they dress like this when they are not at work. They don't wear grills but my DD has her nose pierced. It's not uncommon to find my SIL in front of the xbox with his hood up.

He did the right thing by bringing his weapon. He has the right to protect himself and he didn't know what to expect.

I think that was the point of LE telling him to stay with his car. Only he had the advantage during a confrontation of having the gun. Only GZ had the responsibility to know he should not follow him because it could become an altercation and his weapon could have easily been used against him.

Common sense and his training to become a police officer should have told him if he suspected TM was up to no good that TM could have been meeting a group of friends who could have easily outnumbered him (there weren't any but given GZ's suspicions it should have been a consideration) and the gun could have been lost to him. Unless he did suspect there were others and pulled the gun ahead of time so when he approached TM the gun was visible.

I'm still stuck on why he pursued, why he did not listen to LE and stay with his vehicle. What he did was dangerous to everyone within that area because had a stray bullet been fired during a struggle, someone else would have been killed. Those homes are joined one after another and if I lived there the condo would be up for sale by now. I would not want to live in a complex where someone would be so careless with their gun. I've had guns in my home and they were always secured. My husband had a license to carry a concealed weapon until the day he died and he rarely carried it on him, his guns were secured. jmo

911 would use whose cell phone pings? What in the world? I don't think 911 has the technology to locate a cell phone that has not called them, I could be wrong though.

Answer this, do 4 year olds call 911 for people who are hundreds of miles away in different cities?

I suppose those who approve of this stand your ground law, might be the ones' who are standing up for GZ...approve of his actions, I certainly don't. I don't see how a 29 y/o can be fearful of one teen walking home. Had it been a pack of teens, then he might be onto something...but not one lone person. His actions do not equal up for me..dude has a propensity for violence. Trayvon has never been arrested so what happened in school has nothing to do with this fateful encounter...:banghead:

IMO the SYG law is mostly okay, but it should be clarified that police can indeed investigate. It's hard for me to believe that the police really think they can't even investigate if a person kills someone and then claims SYG. I can understand if they can't arrest without more info, but they should definitely be able to investigate. For the most part I like the law because I would hate for someone like Sarah McKinley to receive a long prison term for honestly defending herself and baby. I realize her circumstances were different (men were breaking into her home vs. GZ and TM being out in a public common area). I just want people to be able to defend themselves from harm without being dragged through costly court proceedings and risk of becoming a convicted murderer - while at the same time allowing police to investigate suspicious situations like this one.

That law probably needs to have some tweaking to be clear that a SYG claim can be investigated.

FWIW, I think GZ is probably guilty of manslaughter and am shocked that SPD didn't seem to feel they could or should investigate further. That is my understanding - that SPD is claiming their hands were tied?

There is no way I hear unks...I hear the "C" and then ooooons...very clear in that tape I heard from ACooper..

and that will be the defining call if the FEDS hear that too...they have better equipment and I have faith they will find this act was hate/racially motivated..

I can still hear it both ways! Maybe it is because I am a Libra! LOL! I don't know how my brain can do that!

I also listened to it several time.
And it is not clear at all.

He called him a guy. I would assume 18-23 if I saw someone that tall.

It doesn't matter what any of us would assume, because George Zimmerman specifically said late TEENS.

Hi. I have been trying to keep up with this case, but I know I have missed alot. I have seen it reported that the only things found on Travon was $22, a bag of Skittles and an ice tea. Has it been reported by LE if Travon had a cell phone on him?
I think this is important because if there wasn't a cell phone found, then how could of his girlfriend called him just minutes before. Also because if he didn't have a cellphone how could LE contact his family if they didn't know who he was?
If he was found with a cell phone, then it is very sad to think that it wasn't looked into right away to notify family.

This whole concept is kind of ridiculous. 911 in Miami is not going to ping the calls of some teenage boy 250 miles away......just because his girlfriend calls them and says a call dropped and someone was following him in the rain. How would they even know it wasn't because of the RAIN storm? They wouldn't even do anything at all anyway besides sternly lecture her to NEVER call 911 about her boyfriend not answering her calls!!!! 911 in Miami COULD not and WOULD not do anything at all with the information that she had to give them. NOTHING.

Anyway... after I left that project I got an e-mail from the owner telling me this guy is in jail, was apprehended for a murder 10 years ago, and a rape 6 years ago.
FUNNY...I was not shocked, I always told the owner that something about him was not as it seems
I thanked my lucky stars, who knows what could have happened if he was not apprehended.
He sure did treat me well..... but.

I live in the Bronx, Songline..funny, I don't feel nervous when walking alone. I'm Italian married to a Puero Rican...and I feel very safe in my neighborhood. All the kids wear their pants hanging, do rags, dreds...but they have no bearing on my safety...unless they actually come towards me, then your fear sets in...but people are people, fads are fads and one shouldn't go by what they wear to say someone is a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 or not..that's judging a book by it's cover and stereotyping....

I felt the same way when GZ's brother spoke.

LOL GZ's brother sat there and lied and made some of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard.

"If it's raining you wait 10 minutes, and then go out" UMMMM...George Zimmerman was out too...
