There is a witness corroborating that, and GZ had injuries as well. It's not true that there is no evidence GZ was attacked imo.

I keep reading posts that a witness corroborated that GZ was attacked and I have repeatedly asked for a link to support this. I have yet to see a link. Unless someone can provide a link, this is considered a rumor and is not allowed here.

I have not read all the posts - I'm just quickly checking in, here, so this may have been answered, but I'm pretty sure I read in the Police Report that when the officer arrived - GZ's gun was in his waistband. GZ responded to the Officer's verbal directions and was then handcuffed and taken to the patrol car.

Salem (bbm)

The cop mentioned in the police report that the kids hands were under him too. I keep trying to figure out why that was important to this officer. He was not the csi or detective.

I really think that was put in the report because CZ shot this kid in the back while he was sitting on him because he thought he was going for a gun.

There were lots of details that officer could have put in that report about the body but why did he chose that one?

  • #384
Yes that is true but it would be an unfounded and unreasonable fear.

No not at all unreasonable. If he thought Trayvon was up to no good, why wouldn't he think he was armed especially if he was attacked?

  • #385
(Lee is not)IMO a credible witness as he is in total CYA mode. He messed up big time and thought no one would care about someone shooting an unarmed black boy. Well, that makes him consistent in how wrong he is.

Did you hear him state he is a former homicide detective at the presser this afternoon? Good grief!

  • #386
So let me get this right.

Next time I see someone who is up to no good, and possibly armed---I need to follow them, confront them, and ask what they are doing.

Got it.

Makes perfect sense.

You forgot the last part:

And then shoot them

I'm quoting Lee.

Are you saying that Chief Bill Lee said that Trayvon "jumped" Zimmerman? The one who just stepped down "temporarily" (whatever that means) due to public outcry and a no confidence vote regarding the handling of this case?

Link please.

  • #388
Possibly. He does seem very excited to be involved in policing. But I think his claims that Trayvon was suspicious, his pursuit after calling LE and his shooting of this unarmed young man happened because Trayvon was black (and young and much smaller than him). Well if we are going to be accurate, they heard screaming. They can't say who was screaming with any reasonable degree of certainty, regardless of what they came to believe now.
And we know GZ had on a red jacket based on police report. So witness that described someone as wearing white t-shirt had to be mistaken.

The witness mistook white for red and vice versa.

Instead of GZ maybe taking his jacket off or putting it on.

Nonsensical.

Sometimes, it really IS the most logical and simple explanation that's true.

Umm no I don't think you need to do that. But it's not illegal to do so, and yes it does make sense.

I posted that one article several times already. Its a msm source. Police report says Zimmerman was wearing red, while Trayvon was wearing gray.

"The guy on the bottom, who had a red sweater on, was yelling to me, 'Help! Help!' and I told him to stop, and I was calling 911," said the witness, who asked to be identified only by his first name, John.

Wow, what a slap in the face of members of the National Guard.

Not at all.

But the Guard members who shot a bunch of innocent college kids that day deserved a helluva lot more than a slap in the face.

IMO.

It has been known for a very long time that witnesses are frequently inaccurate when describing what someone was wearing-studies has been done on it. So I am choosing the explanation that looks to be most logical and simple to me. When exactly did GZ have time to put on and take off his jacket and why would he do it? This whole thing took minutes.

What a shot to the heart of innocent unarmed students.

Agreed.

I'll bet it is. I think he thinks he will satisfy some of the outraged nation by this maneuver. Why resign? We simply want an arrest. A temporary resignation is not going to satisfy the public. He avoids having to do the right thing by temporarily stepping down.

Black people get the cops called on them ALL the time for just walking down the street. If her son was doing nothing but walking, it's a safe assumption to make that the police were called simply due to the color of his skin.

You know, there has been study after study that indicates people of color, especially black people, are treated and perceived differently, regardless of how they present themselves or how they are dressed. Yet I keep hearing this assumption/inference, mostly by white people, that black people are paranoid, they cry "racism" too much, for anything, and use it as a divisive excuse.

Sure, there are a few people who will use the cry of racism falsely and to their advantage, but black people and other minorities experience overt and subtle discrimination every.single.day. I have seen it and heard it numerous times.

I just don't understand the defensive, passionate attempts to prove that what black folks experience is a figment of their imaginations. It's a reality that is borne out by study after study, statistic after statistic and experience after experience. What the video is about:

I have to agree that black folks get harassed more than white folks. When my son was skateboarding with friends at the back of our property and one or more of the kids were black, a cop car would invariably stop by and searched all of them for pot. Never happened when all the kids were white.
Maybe one reason why more black kids are in jail, they are targeted and are caught more often than white kids.

Thanks for the link. This is the first time I read this.

Well, no.

People who have kind of misunderstood the situation and timeline think GZ is saying he was initially afraid of Trayvon. Obviously, it didn't go that way.

I'm really a little surprised why people keep saying this, when honestly, it must be obvious to everyone that at first, when GZ began following Trayvon he wasn't afraid of him.

It wasn't until he was jumped that he became afraid.

That seems to go without question.

These things seem to be posted as fact.

JFTR, there is zero evidence that Tray ever jumped GZ.

But the fact that GZ wasn't afraid of Tray, decided to pursue him against being cautioned not to, said what he said while he was in pursuit, and then decided oops, I'm scared now, doesn't make him any less the original aggressor.

JMHO

Does anyone else wonder why there seems to be only one stray article that quotes a witness as saying GZ was the one screaming for help?

Maybe it's just me...

  • #399
Witness said they saw blood on his head and nose, I believe. We don't know who's blood it was because no one checked. Witness also said GZ had his own hands on his own head. Where his hands covered in Trayvon's blood before he rubbed his head? Who knows??

Blood does not automatically mean there is an injury beneath it.

Sure would have been nice if the responding officers bothered to look into any of this at the time. Could have cleared a lot of things up right from the start.

That's not true. He was treated at the scene by paramedics. I'm certain a paramedic can tell smeared blood that splashed on him vs. blood from the wounds on GZ's head.

If we could all just stick to the facts, or official quotes, and not just guess at things like it isn't known whose blood was on GZ this conversation would go better.

Trayvon's own mother said in a press conference yesterday, this is not racial. They want his murderer arrested.

Linda Baden is on HLN calling it racial, some other guy talking about this being as bad as the '92 LA riots. Please. IMO, this guy may well be a racist, but he is in no position of power, he doesn't think for the entire country so why would there be riots? The riots in '92 were over Police Officers, not criminals.

I am outraged by the racist card. He needs to be arrested, that's the problem and it is certainly not a new or novel one.
