Are we really now going to debate whether or not Trayvon was a child? Good grief, I do believe I've heard it all. Of course he was a child. He wasn't old enough to vote, he wasn't old enough to enter the military, he was still in high school. I think I've seen it all now.

Awe, bless this little man's heart. He lost his family.

Thank you Dear... No matter how old you are you stay someone's child, as I am with almost 45 my mothers child....

Blessing

And in a mother's eye, her son can do no wrong.

LOL! I am a mom of of 3 sons, and trust me, in my eyes, they can do plenty wrong! :floorlaugh:

But I still love them with all my heart and soul :blowkiss:

What places would that be and which handgun training teaches that? I find this statement hard to believe, considering I can't think of any place at which someone can be shot safely.

Lower part of legs will stop a person without killing them although they can still bleed to death. GZ wanted no witness though . It suspect he might have shot him in the heart.

brought in for questioning, his car wasn't searched, his gun wasn't taken or tested, he wasn't drug or alcohol tested despite finding him with a gun after killing an unarmed boy walking back home to his family.

This seems like the most blatantly incompetent excuse for an investigation I've ever heard of. It almost defies belief. I've never heard of anyone involved in a shooting that is not interrogated afterward-this guy just takes his gun and goes merrily on his way.

BEM: Is this from LE or witnesses? We all know how things get distorted quickly. It's hard to believe they didn't take his gun into evidence.

Then he should have waited for the police to arrive instead of taking matters into his own hands.

I'm saying he was in fear for his life during the altercation, not before.

LE took his gun into evidence and tested it.

And in a mother's eye, her son can do no wrong.

And in this case she is not wrong.

Unless you have some information which no one else has, exactly WHAT did Trayvon Martin do wrong that would be punishable by jail let alone the death penalty?

What was his mistake? I really want to know so that I can inform my own kids to not do whatever he did. What could he have done differently so that he would not have looks suspicious, so that he would not have been followed? What evasive manover could he have used to not draw the attention of GZ?

This is the question that I and everyone at all the rallies want to know, this is the question that Trayvon Martin's parents want desperately to know

WHAT DID TRAYVON DO WRONG? HOW COULD HE HAVE AVOIDED BEING SHOT TO DEATH BY A STRANGER THAT HE NEVER ONCE VOLUNTARILY APPROACHED?

The one thing I always heard about guns is that even LE are thought to shoot in the body mass because it's easy to miss if you aim for an arm or a leg.

You can easily kill someone by shooting them in the leg if you hit an artery.

Okay? :waitasec:

But my post wasn't about shooting someone in the leg. I was just explaining some of the things that were covered during Concealed Weapon Permit training that my husband attended.

Not instantly you can't. Once down, and they would be down for good in pain and you could apply pressure to stop the bleeding. Aiming for the heart and lungs is a death shot. Their dead before they hit the ground. TM wasn't fighting at that point. And the point is he never should have gotten close enough to have to shoot TM. It's never worth it, LE will tell you that. They preach that. No one's life was in danger as long as GZ had done what he was told, to stand down.

GZ is not going to win this one. He'd be better off asking for the FBI to clear him. I doubt that will happen. Still like to know how he got a handgun with his background check. jmo

I think they perfectly represent altogether too much of society, some members of which I am seeing right on this thread. I say this as someone who holds a sociology degree. JMO of course.

Tested it for what? Link please?

There is already a link provided on this very thread. They tested the gun and there was only one bullet fired.

I'm just going to say this. What would have happened if Trayvon, confronted by this nosy tattletale guy, just said what he was doing there? This is interesting because my ALSO 17 year old son was tonight confronted at an athletic field where he was in the creek gathering pond plants. The adult stared him down for quite awhile, and then approached, and my son thought that was pretty creepy but said "hello". And then when asked what he was doing, he said he was gathering pond plants for a project, again a big smile.

*Chefmom has had Root Planing and a Root Canal today and has a sore mouth. :( *

I wish That GZ would be interviewed soon, and issue an apology to the family. Regardless of which side of the fence one is on, I believe that would help. I understand why he is not showing his face, and I can't blame him, but I feel that the public would like to hear from him. It just seems to me it would make him appear less evil if he weren't completely hiding from this. Perhaps a statement issued by an attorney even. I don't know. I would just like some acknowledgement from him about this. JMO

I didn't realize that checking the number of bullets remaining in a gun was a test.

Why was Zimmerman even ON the phone with 911? Clearly, he wasn't heeding the advice of not following the potential perp, he wouldn't stay in one place and wait for an officer, he wasn't so intimidated that he avoided a confrontation by staying in his vehicle... Why? He was creating a recorded play by play of the warped reasoning behind his STALKING and KILLING of an unidentified scary person!

I mean, really, let's face it, he wasn't calling for help-- clearly. He wasn't accepting any.

His call tells us much more than he intended, imo.

Really? Handgun training teaches you to shoot someone in an arm or a leg?
I don't believe that. It's a very small target that is easy to miss.

Not if you are very close.
