Why was George Zimmerman not arrested the night of the shooting?
When the Sanford Police Department arrived at the scene of the incident, Mr. Zimmermanprovided a statement claiming he acted in self defense which at the time was supported byphysical evidence and testimony.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/86330859/Zimmerman-Martin-Shooting

According to the police report that statement is not true. The officer said Zimmerman told him he shot Martin. He never said it was in self defense.

It was pay back time for services previously rendered by GZ to the SPD.
Good old boy's club in action IMO.

I agree if police had info that supported self-defense they would release it. We see they stonewalled the release of the 911 tapes the same way. I knew that if anything on the 911 tapes backed Zimmerman up, they would have been released much earlier.

As we see, the 911 tapes demonstrate the probable cause that police said they lacked. I predict witness statements, the autopsy, and even GZ's statement will do the same.

Not if they didn't investigate whether or not Trayvon called 911? We have to remember, they didn't even collect Zimmerman's clothes as evidence.
Yep and its usually the media that request 911 tapes and LE can be picky enough to only release exactly what tape they request - like from a specific number or at a specific time. If no one knew Trayvon called 911 - then no one would have known to ask for it.

History of the hoodie

The garment's style and form can be traced back to Medieval Europe when the formal wear for monks included a long, decorative hood called cowl worn a tunic or robes. The hooded sweatshirt was first produced in the United States starting in the 1930s. The modern clothing style was first produced by Champion in the 1930s and marketed to laborers working who endured freezing temperatures while working in upstate New York.[2] The term hoodie entered popular usage in the 1990s.

Throughout the US it is common for middle school, high school and college students to wear sweatshirts with or without hoods that display their respective school names and/or mascots across the chest either as part of a uniform or personal preference. Among the general US population, they are commonly worn while partaking in outdoor activities or as casual dress and are a near-ubiquitous fashion item for children, teenagers and young adults.

Hoodies have become mainstream fashion transcending the hood's original utilitarian purpose, similar to jeans. This has found its way into a variety of styles, even so far as to be worn under a suit jacket.

Tricia sells WS hoodies, some of us have bought them...are we next?

IMO Geraldo is a <modship> <modship>!

Oh no I didn't mean Tray's, I was referring to that one inaccurate article that keeps getting posted about a witness saying he saw Tray on top of GZ and GZ calling for help.

I meant that guy's 911 call, like all of the other 911 calls that people were making that night that were released.

Yea, well some guy out of Chicago is reporting this while no one else is.

Okay, I asked this upthread, but no one answered me. Why all the complaining about Al Sharpton? What is the problem with him?

IDK

I've haven't really thought one way or the other about Al Sharpton, but, I enjoyed him last night. He had me yelling at my monitor, lol.

Please read the article, and then if you still have questions I'll be happy to discuss.

Got it. Quite outdated in academic terms. Looks like it's from 1966. And published in a journal he started. Hmmm

I don't see any wrong names in this article.
""The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: 'help, help…and I told him to stop and I was calling 911," he said."

father that directly refute this so please tell us where you get your information. I think it's horrible to lie about what this father said about his son while he was being murdered. It's not right.

Not to mention what his mother said:

Thank you. The only article that refutes this is attribute to LE. Which is interesting in itself.

That makes sense about Tray's 911 call.

But I was referring to the article that said there was a guy who supposedly called 911 and said he saw Tray on top of GZ and GZ was calling for help. I was asking if it's true, then why they didn't release his actual 911 call when all the others from that night were released.

Isn't he contradicting himself.

YES he is also he said: ACT, a few times,

“We are going to act intelligent,” Sharpton said. “We going to act dignified. And, we’re going to be determined. We may be angry, but we’re not mad dogs. We’re too smart to fall for [that].”

IMO he is very slick and you have to observe the language carefully.

But mostly his presence is riot provoking. We did not need a Sharpton to get this case heard.
NOR did TM's parents need 3 weeks of silence without understanding what happened to their son.

Justice would be great...
Sadly it is already a botch job...
IT is not a race issue - go hear the 911 call or read the transcript on this thread.

Yes, and if he is making it up, I will be really upset. That's not something you make up. I would hope someone wouldn't do something like that.

I predict that a warrant for George Zimmerman's arrest will be issued on Monday.

There weren't any riots. Everything has been very peaceful so Sharpton didn't cause any riots. As far as I know he's not representing the family, they have attorneys who have also been their only official spokespeople. Is there a link that says Sharpton is running things? I'm not Sharpton fan but I don't think saying we're going to act dignified is secret code for violence or something else.

I listened to the 911 call many times, my opinion hasn't changed one iota. As a matter of fact it just seals my opinion more and more.

Witness says TM attacked GZ. With how msm has been reporting I am looking at all the info but waiting for the FBI to release it officially.

http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/news/state/witness-martin-attacked-zimmerman-03232012
From the article:

QUOTE:
But one man's testimony could be key for the police.

"The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: 'help, help…and I told him to stop and I was calling 911," he said.

Trayvon Martin was in a hoodie; Zimmerman was in red
The witness only wanted to be identified as "John," and didn't not want to be shown on camera.

His statements to police were instrumental, because police backed up Zimmerman's claims, saying those screams on the 911 call are those of Zimmerman.

"When I got upstairs and looked down, the guy who was on top beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point," John said END QUOTE

That doesn't make any sense. First the witness sees this fight, hears Zimmerman yelling for help and the witness tells Zimmerman to stop? And that the witness is calling 911. Next we read the witness says "when I got upstairs" - so what? While the witness was calling 911 he ran upstairs? If he was running upstairs then his back would be turned - why would this witness turn his back to the whole thing, run upstairs and all the while be calling 911 and telling the person yelling for help to stop? Huh?

Then there's this:

QUOTE:
Our sister station, FOX 35 in Orlando, has spoken to that witness
END QUOTE

So this is second hand information. Just that their sister station has spoken to the witness - no reporter name. This is second hand info.

And, finally, IF this witness account exists why hasn't SPD released this guy's statement? It would corroborate the self-defense claim.
