I saw a friend this morning... because of our surrounding situation, we were only able to speak for a few short moments... he has known Abraham for quite a long time... and used to work with him, occasionally, pre-lotto.

Here's the few things, that my friend said, when I asked him if he had heard anything of Abraham lately, his mother has to be worried sick:

"I don't know why, but he never really did take care of his mother."

"People say he's dying. Sometimes he was sick, but he wasn't that sick."

"I heard he's using a different name. But I think that blonde woman had him done away. She was bad for him, but he wouldn't listen."

BBM: Any idea about what kind of sick? I wonder if it was after getting involved with Dee.

This article is an interesting read; dated 10/18/2007. Much more in article about witnesses.

The two men agree that they were working for the Lakeland company MBM Corp and delivering meat to restaurants on a route that ended Nov. 15, 2006. They also agree that Ford went into the Town Star convenience store in Frostproof and bought two Quick Pick tickets.

However, Ford claims that Shakespeare stole the tickets from his wallet at some point during their trip.

Several witnesses from the trucking company where Ford used to work testified:
Celeste Collingsworth, who was Ford's supervisor at the time
Bobby Eicholtz, an MBM employee
His sister-in-law, Tina Eicholtz, who also works at the company
Darryl White, a truck driver for MBM
Shakespeare's longtime friend, Mike Strong

BBM: Any idea about what kind of sick? I wonder if it was after getting involved with Dee.

The cousin allegedly went to A's mom's home and claimed A was sick with Aids (IIRC?).

Did DM give any indication if she knew or thought A was sick?

DHS (lawyer) seemed to think A was alive in October, when he allegedly spoke with A. I don't recall DHS mentioning illness?

I don't recall A's mom mentioning illness, except what she was told by the cousin.

I don't recall A's son's mother mentioning illness.

Dee has never mentioned Axxx; but someone told the cousin who told his mother (as I interpret article in Ledger).

Must be some reason she didn't chatter away about this reason for leaving. She's wanted to cast Abraham in a bad light and this would have added to the pile.

lb, do you remember if DM and the cousin were friends with one another?

  • #188
Wonder if the cousin was paid by Moore or someone else to say A.S. told him he had Aids. There would be medical reports if he did have Aids.

Didn't DM say she sold all the debts or mortgages to someone, but didn't say who the person is? Wouldn't there be doc to show she sold them all to one person?

Moore said she also helped him set up a power of attorney, which was given to a longtime friend whom she refused to name. That meant there would be someone available to deal with legal issues for Shakespeare without his having to be involved.

This is the article where DM says she helped A go missing.

If there was a 'power of attorney' given to a "longtime friend" of A, would it be recorded somewhere/anywhere? Has there not been any legal issues for this 'power of attorney' to address? Since A is missing, is it wrong to think the "longtime friend" would come forward and address this situation or has he/she?

Clown, this snip is from the same article (Woman Says...) I haven't been keeping up well with the deeds, etc...

"The problem is that many of the people who borrowed from Shakespeare have refused to pay, Moore said, and she feels threatened by some of them.
To get out of that stressful situation, she said, she's sold those loans - at a loss - to someone she declined to name.
"I want these idiots, these drugheads and these cokeheads to know that I've sold everything," Moore said. "Abraham sold me his mess to get a better life, and I practically gave it away to get mine back."

Here you don't need to file a POA to make it legal. Have no idea about fl though. You do have to file medical POA and have it notarized here, but again don't know about fl.

I have not followed this case much...
But has anyone followed his money trail?
Dee does sound dangerous from what I have been reading.
:( sad that winning money can equal losing in life. :(

I called the number 813-737-3267 ; the recording "Hello, you have reached the office of Stitzel Law Firm"

Seems odd, to me, that the sign doesn't have the area code on it... rather expensive sign... that doesn't appear to want responses/calls... IMO.

From 7/17/07 Lakeland Ledger article
Laurato filed a motion for temporary injunction in June, asking that Shakespeare's assets from his lottery winnings be frozen to prevent him from spending them before he goes to trial in civil court.

According to Laurato, the temporary injunction also covers Shakespeare's house, and the house that Shakespeare bought for his mother. Shakespeare would not be able to sell either house or borrow money against either house as long as the temporary injunction is in place.

They are referring to the house on Lowell. The attorneys may have documents showing Abraham paid off her mortgage; the house was included in their filings to freeze the assets.

POA and the recording of any documents relating to DM selling the assets may not be recorded (yet...if they even exist).

POA usually isn't recorded until it is needed for some other legal proceeding in which it will establish the right to sign for the person.

Any records transferring property can go unrecorded (as proven in this case, as the documents from AS to AMS were all signed many months before recording). They only need to be recorded for certain things...i.e. to get property insurance, get title insurance, to sell property.

As I said before, this practice is very risky. Anyone involved in a property exchange should get the docs recorded as quickly as possible.

You are right; I've been searching records for the power of attorney and can't find any. I've found an unrelated case in which Stitzel was made power of attorney - so I'm sure there would be a filing. As is their pattern, they possibly created one and haven't filed it yet with Polk county.

I've been trying to figure out what the sign reads in front of tan house. It's the last picture of the picture posts. It looks like it lists the companies at the house; there is something at the top like the name of the office complex...but it's a house.

I don't think this is zoned only for residential; not with these signs out in front of the houses.

I sooooo want to go over there and find out what that one says!!!
