For the wiretapping charge, it appears that Dorice may now have an attorney.
D001 - MOORE, DEEDEE D001 DEFENDANT 1 @549230
.....ATTY - BOLDT, CHRISTOPHER E ATTY PRIVATE ATTORNEY A826839

Still no one listed for the murder charge.
http://publicrecord.hillsclerk.com/...YrFr=1970&pnCaseYrTo=2010&pcCtypCL=&pcLocnCL=

How can she/they hire a private attorney for the wiretapping charge, but claim indigent for the murder charge and have us the taxpayers of Hillsborough County foot the bill???? Hardly seems fair!! And you know, I understand that everyone has a right to a fair trial :cursing: but where did I sign up to pay for these freaking criminals' defenses????? I, a law abiding citizen (yes, I rarely even exceed the speed limit, so I can ***** about this!!!) am required to see MY tax dollars go to defend these obviously guilty :loser:
:banghead: :furious: :furious: :furious:

Now that I'm finished venting (for now) and stepping off my soapbox.....back to my original question. How? Indigent?? Private Attorney.....Doesn't add up!!!!

Tigergal, do you listen to Bubba in the morning? I listen on my way to work. It's an hour between Lakeland and Tampa if the traffic is bad. I'm the other side of Tampa by the airport so I have to take 4 to 275 and go through confusion corners. Gives me about an hour to listen.

I actually don't. I have before, but he's a little too *raw* for me sometimes....I typically don't listen to the radio while driving. Most of the time I'm carrying precious cargo, and I'd rather conversate with him than listen to the radio. I might click it on if I think of it in the morning after I drop him off. I did, however, click the link you sent earlier and spent some time going over his website, looking for the mention and found nothing at all. Found some Caylee Anthony case info, but nothing on Dorice.

Confusion corners....HA!! Are you referring to the I-4/275 interchange, or further down, where they changed all the stuff near the airport? (That's crazy down there when you don't know what's going on, but actually I think it's BETTER....though I don't typically travel it much.) Have you ever tried to get to the Hyatt Tampa Airport (not ON property, but off the Hwy 60 Clearwater exit) Don't rely on GPS to get you there, unless you've gotten an update LOL

I'm not local. I totally appreciate all you locals though.

BTW, welcome to Abraham's relatives who have been here and commented. I know it's been said before but there are many prayers with all of you and we are all hoping/praying that justice is served in this case.

Not sure if this worked or not...I'm trying to upload a photo.

A younger, innocent DeeDee. I'm sure she had no clue that someday, not too many years down the road she'd be locked up on a 1st degree murder charge. Sad.

Okay, I tried to upload a photo on the prior post.....but I can't even see it....Can you??

If not, please leave some advice of how to fix, and I will work on it tomorrow. My album is "public" so it should be visible. Please advise!

I can see it by 'opening link in new tab' (that's how I do everything).

She was cute and not so 'hard' looking in that photo. I know we all age and we all age differently, DDM just looks like everyone I ever knew in high school. Normal looking. Never would dream by looking at her she'd have grown up to be an 'alleged' murderess. JMO (I use the word "alleged" because she hasn't been found guilty yet. It's not because I think she's innocent.)

So far, both worked for me. Maybe someone else will chime in soon and let you know whether or not they're experiencing troubles seeing the photo?

Thanks for posting it/them.

Deep breaths, Guitarman.

I guess I can see why you freaked out a little. No, we are not stalking posters on the forum. We aren't that good and we aren't psychics.:eek::eek:

It's all good. Being cool is a good thing. Aren't we on the same side?

Looking back i see how i made my mistake in reading the post and i must say i am sorry, totally my mistake.......thank you

I am local also.

Tonight as I watched the Letterman show I saw Kirstie Alley on. And thought to self....self...she should portray DDM in the story that will inevitably come out on all this when all is said and done. Just hit me as I watched it.

I'm not sure if it works like NY works, but in Syracuse, NY, Legal Aid would take a lot of the public defender cases at one time. They held the contract. If Legal Aid had a conflict, there was a list of private attorneys the Judge had and he would appoint one from the list to handle the case. Syracuse would then pay that attorney a set amount to represent the criminal. Obviously, with Legal Aid, there were many conflicts as they handled both criminal and civil cases and if they had represented the victim before, they could not take the case.
If it was a Capital case, there were special attornies who would handle the case. I believe for Syracuse they worked out of Rochester. I would suppose if they had a conflict it would be handled the same way, a private attorney would have to be hired who did not have a conflict.
No matter how guilty it would appear someone is, in a crime where your life is on the line or a crime where you may have to go to jail, the person has the right to an attorney to defend their right to a fair trial with due process. That is one of the things I don't mind my tax dollar going to. There are many people who are innocent who would have been railroaded had they not had an attorney to protect their rights, but they could not afford an attorney. I hope she gets a really good attorney for the murder case. I don't want any chance of Appeals based on ineffective counsel. I think it is a very strong case and I believe any jury would convict her. She needs an attorney, but unless she listens to the attorney this time, she will continue to sabotage herself.
With so many people unemployed right now, it could be anyone who gets accused of a crime who cannot afford an attorney. Eye witness is not all that reliable unless the police catch the perp on the scene with murder weapon in hand. We just had a guy here in FL do over 30 years for a crime he did not commit (DNA was not his) based on eyewitness testimony.
I, like you, have not found myself in a position to need an attorney for a criminal trial, appointed or otherwise. But I am grateful that the state is required to appoint counsel if the person cannot afford it.

That is exactly where I work, out there by Rte. 60 and the airport. I go to lunch at Ben Davis Beach most days and take a walk down the shore. Confusion corners is the Rte 4 and Rte 275 intersection. I believe that would be downtown. It's where the traffic starts bogging down when traffic picks up. They've added a lane going the other way, which has helped, some. They could really make it 5 lanes and I think it would help more.

Thank you for answering my question Lashek. I think Barbara is a crook too. That Judd sure sounds like a heck of a sherriff. I'm near you, just a little north in the Ft.Lauderdale dale area. I sure wish Amerikai would stop back by because he seemed to have some insites to Abraham's financials.

tigergal71, the way I'm understanding the "private attorney" question you're addressing, is that because there was some "ethical conflict" with the "previously assigned" Assistant Public Defender Greg Hill (or possibly the Public Defender's Office in general), then Hillsborough Circuit Judge Daniel H. Sleet appointed the "Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel" to represent Dee Dee Moore.

Christopher Boldt (who may very well also be a private attorney) was "appointed" by the judge because Boldt is part of this "Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel." Now whether he's getting paid Public Defender fee or some adjusted fee through this "Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel" remains to be seen. I don't know how that works and that would be a valid question, in my opinion, for local tax payers to ask.

But either way, apparently the Public Defender's office has this unknown "ethical conflict" and because of that, they can't represent Dee Dee Moore and our laws won't allow Dee Dee Moore (declared indigent) not to be represented by an attorney period. Apparently this "Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel" was created several years ago just for this reason if a defendent could not be defended by the Public Defender's office.

Thank you for that explanation Susan. It helps me to view it in a more calm manner. I know that there are probably LOTS of innocent people behind bars, and I do remember some cases where innocents get out of jail based on new evidence, some after many many years like the one you mentioned!
I needed that perspective and for that I thank you.
Also, I don't feel so angry knowing now that the private attorney probably isn't getting anywhere near his 'regular' rate for defending her.....so that helps calm me a little too ;)
I love this site!! It soooo helps to be able to work through the questions and to discuss things through.
so glad i found it!
oh, and I FORGOT to listen to Bubba this morning :(

Now, we've heard it called "Malfunction Junction" for numerous years, till hubby's former company he worked for "took the malfunction out of the junction" years back when all that was redone!! (yes, they actually used that as a slogan during the construction process) LOL
Confusion corners is a new one tho :)

Thank you ACR, for your clarification as well :)
I misunderstood, and was thinking that she had a PRIVATE attorney (retained by her/her family). Whew. I am okay now ;)
