I know, I'm at work wondering too! I'm going to put this on the front page when I get home this afternoon. This trial is really interesting and I keep wondering if/when Websleuths will be mentioned!!!

I'm listening here while wrapping Christmas presents that have to be sent early. So far, they are setting the scene by indicating her ex-husband dug the hole and the history of the two houses involved.

  • #664
I can't remember - is her ex being tried also?

  • #665
I don't think so, but I'm unsure. I wouldn't be surprised if he got immunity for his testimony since it's pretty damming.

Okay, they finished the story of the slab with the guy who laid the 30x30 slab.

Now, onto LE as I multi-task listening to trial and Trish with Robin Sax!

I'm not impressed with the prosecution lawyer. Referred to the last witness there as 'Detective Moore', and its not the first faux pas he's made.

Woman on trial in killing of Fla. lottery winner

"There are no eyewitnesses who can testify that Ms. Moore shot and killed Mr. Shakespeare or was present when he was shot and killed or had any part carrying out his murder," Hileman said, adding that the evidence against Moore is mostly circumstantial.

Pruner said she enlisted one of Shakespeare's friends, Greg Smith, to deliver a typed letter to Shakespeare's mother, ostensibly from Shakespeare — even though he was barely literate.

Smith is expected to take the witness stand because he became a confidential informant and recorded numerous conversations and meetings with Moore

TAMPA --
The woman charged in the killing of Florida Lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare took "calculated, deliberate steps" to siphon the last of his millions, then hid his body — and the truth — from investigators, prosecutors told a jury Wednesday.

Defense attorneys countered that there is only circumstantial evidence linking Dorice Donegan "Dee Dee" Moore to the slaying and that she was framed for the crime by a man who owed Shakespeare money.

It is bizarre that a user is a murder suspect.

I used to post with her. I thought she was a tad quirky, but I never imagined she would end up being accused of his murder. At the time, he had not yet been found. By the time he was found, she was a POI and no longer posting on WS.

ETA: Here's one of the threads where she was posting: www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92288

BTW, she's still a member here, though she hasn't posted since 2009.

Same here. OFFLINE It's possible that all the jurors are not there yet. I'm holding out here for a few more minutes before hunting down a different link.

I missed the opening statements yesterday so I'm catching up. I really appreciate everyone for sharing these livestream links. I can't go to the Courthouse until tomorrow. Looked like there were lots of empty seats yesterday. Smaller courtroom than I'd anticipated.

Susan 1, I followed this case a bit at the beginning and had some basic knowledge when the trial started yesterday. Last night and this morning, I spent hours reading back on this thread and took side trips to others as they popped up. You have been amazing!

Right now, I'm reading DMoore's comments while I wait.

There are 60 viewers besides the two of us, so we must be in the right place.

Even though the judge seems to be a prompt person and willing to go for as long as it takes, there are usually things that slow down a trial, especially in the morning.
