That's crazy. He should cop an attempted murder charge for every car he passed, especially the ones he hit. Obviously no concern for anyone else's safety. And don't even get me started on the "self-inflicted stab wound"...:facepalm:

Oh that must have been horrifying for AL and all the people in the general area. Glad she was found alive and praying for a full and speedy recovery. As for the RSO, I like the idea of a big face tattoo plus some kind of tracking device.

I wonder if her parents were ok with her gender identification? Maybe she ran away or went with this man as a means of escape from the feeling of not being accepted?

Animals can be microchipped and a collar is often used...

We need something visual. So we know what we are dealing with its not fair that these men just blend in. Facial branding or tattooing will help leaves no doubt in anyones mind what they are.

"The cashier at a roadside truck stop near Baton Rouge, La., spotted AL and registered sex offender Steven Patrick Myers late Wednesday night and notified police."

Cashier got a text from Nancy Grace with the photo of the missing girl and she recognized her.

I doubt that facial branding or tattooing would stop many teens from being with sexual offenders. Teens often feel unjustly put upon by the rest of the world and would identify with the "poor sweet man who got caught up in the system when he was falsely accused," or whatever line he wants to use. Teens tend to be gullible because they don't have the weight of experience to guide them.

There are a lot of sexual predators out there. We only know about the ones who got caught.

Thanks to the smart cashier. I thought I heard the 911 caller say the cashier saw this on Nancy Grace and recognized AL.

I understand your desire to be sensitive, but I wouldn't read too much into a teenager's social media. Unless there is some public announcement from the family or reference in MSM about AL being transgender, I would keep referring to her as "her".

Everything I have read has female and the news is calling AL a girl. I guess the parents are too?

I don't watch NG anymore, but for some reason my TV was on that station while I paid bills. I finally started reading what was scrolling. After that, I saw the nasty scowl about another case and switched her off. But I was glad that someone had seen her show on this case!

Apparently better than last night - now saying serious and stable instead of critical

When police moved in on the truck, they found AL suffering from 10 stab wounds. She was taken to a local hospital in Lafayette where she is listed in serious and stable condition.

Also, for those interested, there's the press conference from her dad (on behalf of her parents - her mom is en route to the hospital) - it's two parts.

And here's just a brief statement from him released prior to the presser:

The L family is extremely grateful for all the support, thoughts and prayers from the Tampa community. We really want to thank law enforcement for bringing a safe resolution to this endeavor.
