There was another girl with the same name but much older missing from Dothan. She was reported missing in 2016 and found in 2017. Is it possible this “5 year old” is a typo in the title and could be a “15 year old”?

Hmmmm, the description of this five (5) year old matches up with the 'older' Ashlynn. A five year old being 5 feet tall, 110-115 pounds sounds like a pre-WNBA young woman (IMO)

There was an alert from Dothan, AL, that included the same picture as that Twitter notification. It's a PDF file.

If Ashlynn was five (5) in 2008, it does make sense she would be '14' in 2017. Not sure why the PDF says '16', for what appears to be the same young girl/woman/teenager. Confused much? Me? Hah!

Hmm... Not sure what is going on. Perhaps the 2008 was a typo in NAMUS and she is really missing since 2018? That would fit with the previous reports of a missing teen with her name. I think they base the age when missing on date of birth, although they don't put date of birth in the public file. I was surprised that there would be a case of a 5 year missing for over 10 years that was not previously in NAMUS.

I'm not sure what is going on. It is not a typo on my part but may be a typo in NAMUS. Her page currently says she went missing at 5 years old in 2008.

Oh, I knew you brought the information over from NAMUS. Someone there needs to double check their data, before publishing for the world to see!

Why do they not include a DOB? Didn't they used to before their changes?

IMO They are trying to keep all of us on our toes! :)

Charley Project website gives Date of Birth if they have it. I'm not sure if NAMUS ever did that or not. NAMUS currently only says the age missing and current age. I'm assuming they have an entry we can't see for the person's date of birth so that the "current age" will automatically update as the time goes by. Just guessing on that though. They might not want to release exact date of birth in order to protect privacy of the missing person and also to try to prevent scam artists from claiming to be the missing person like in the Timmothy Pitzen case recently. MOO.

This is a mystery on top of a mystery! I was thinking typo as the first error but now, maybe she did run away again in 2018. Sure makes you wonder what she was running from. If she ran from a facility in Miami at one point, what was she there for? Group home? Trafficking? Mental illness? Where’s her family and why aren’t they all over social media trying to track her down? If she was in the foster care system, she’s about to age out, so is the sense of urgency not there as a result? Things that make you go Hmmmmm....

My 5 year old daughter is in the 100% percentile for her height and is nowhere near 5' lol. However her cousin when she was 5 was 4'10 and is 5'5 at age 12 ...My daughter is slated to be 6'4.. im 5'11 (im the runt of my family!!)

Well I don't think it's any of ur bussiness why she was missing . I mean come on now don't you have anything else better to do than wonder why she is missing . I mean if I took the time to look and see who, was, missinf who the **** r you to say all these things .

Before this post gets removed. And it should, because this is not how we discuss things at Websleuths; where we treat everyone with the same respect as we do all of our missing. And our victims.

I believe I can understand some of your frustration at reading some of our thoughts, but we work with the reports that we receive. And nowhere have I seen any updates on this missing girl/woman.

You’re saying that Ashlynn Maio, listed here as five (5) years old, in 2008, is actually twenty one (21) years old in 2019. Correct? And that she is married, and living in NY. Is that the City, or somewhere in the State?

You need to be able to link your information to any postings by LE (Law Enforcement) or MSM (Mainstream Media) that shows that our missing person has been returned home safely. That’s really a safety mechanism built into how things run here. We cannot just lambast other’s commentary, when all that is needed is clarification on this victim’s status.

I hope that I’m not coming across too strongly, I do not mean in any fashion, to do so.

She has been found . she is 21 now and this whole missing thing shouldn't be on here so I will contact who I need to and have them remove this lie
When LE (Law Enforcement) or MSM post missing/found information, it is brought over here to Websleuths. This is done by people constantly looking for this type of information, to make other members (and anyone else in the public) aware of any particular cases. This information is not a “lie” as the events are notated in their reports. Unless you are saying that LE, or MSM is lying? A better way to express would be to say that they have the incorrect information? Or maybe not, I’m not explaining myself very well tonight. Must be my sleepiness.

Someone needed to inform LE that this young woman did return “home”, wherever that might now be. Then we can close out the case, with verification of a safe return. JMHO

To the poster who was posting before saying she has been found, please contact NAMUS with that info. The contact info is here (click on blue text): The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

This thread may be removed if the NAMUS is removed (I'm not a mod and it's up to them). It's possible someone at NAMUS or Law Enforcement made a mistake with the age or with publishing an old MP case. Or perhaps there is more than one person with the same name who went missing. Maybe the person you know who is married is not the same person as this missing child.

If there was a 5 year old who went missing in 2008 and is still missing we want to bring attention to that case so the police can figure out what happened to her. We are not here to post "lies" about anyone. This is not a gossip site. We are trying to bring awareness about missing persons cases and crimes. We just post what the officials have posted. NAMUS gets their info from Law Enforcement. Please contact the authorities with your info.

As of right now, NAMUS is still active and visible. Please contact NAMUS and stop spamming our thread with the same reply over and over again.
