Brian Entin Investigates has a new episode explaining a lot about what is going on.

Do we have specific confirmation that Anna was found in HER room?

Yikes.

This reminds me of a case In Illinois where a step daughter wasn’t feeling well, and was presumably attacked and murdered…she was never found.

As a parent, I can’t imagine wanting to delay a divorce to protect my partner and their child from the consequences of murdering my child. Can’t help but wonder if Ana’s dad really agrees with this or if Shauntel is getting ahead of herself. If there is evidence of SA that comes out, which sounds like a strong possibility, I can’t see how a father would agree to further delays.

Thank you for posting this. I wanted to discuss the stepbrother angle but didn't know if we could.
I'm figuring anything in MSM or public records is fair game. But don't take my word for it, I'm not much good with gatekeeping. :)

Among the avenues investigators are looking at is whether there might have been some sort of altercation with her stepbrother prior to her death, the source told ABC News. Investigators are also looking at other possibilities, including a medical emergency or an overdose, the source said.

Another court filing relating to Hudson's past marriage, filed Tuesday, identifies her teenage son with the initials T.H. as a suspect in Kepner's death. In the meantime, he is living with a relative to protect the safety of his younger sister and of Kepner's other sibling, according to the document.

The filing states that it is believed that the son's biological father was getting him a lawyer but it was not clear if that had happened.

The filing adds: 'The sixteen-year-old's future has been put in jeopardy because of the choices made by the Respondent… the youngest child is at immediate risk of abuse, abandonment, or neglect in the care of the respondent.'

Shauntel filed a response late Tuesday denying allegations that she 'abused, neglected or abandoned' her children.

She added: 'It is true that there is an open investigation regarding the death of the biological daughter of the stepfather and [boy's initials] is a suspect regarding this death which occurred recently on a cruise ship.'

Shauntel's filing said the boy was staying with one of her relatives and she is providing counseling for all of her children.

FWIW I think 11:17 isn't when her heart stopped. IMO this article makes it clear (to me) that 11:17 is when she was declared dead by cruise medical staff. Her actual time of death, to be determined.

A law enforcement source has now told Fox News Digital that investigators recovered surveillance video from the Carnival Horizon showing Anna with a “suspect” before her death. The FBI is reviewing hours of additional footage from the ship.

This is the first time any outlet has reported the existence of video showing Anna directly with a potential suspect.

[…]
Another newly revealed detail states that the family’s oldest child, 18, moved out after what the ex-husband described as a “violent altercation” involving himself, the stepmother, and Anna’s father. The stepmother’s attorney denies any such incident occurred.

i had to stare at this a bit to make sense of it. almost made a diagram. sounds like:

- the stepmom and her ex-husband are in the middle of an ugly custody battle over the kids (16yo stepbrother and 9yo stepsister).
- the ex-husband is now pointing to the murder investigation and arguing for custody, saying the stepmom and anna's father can't be trusted with the kids. he casts 16yo son as essentially a victim of stepmom's neglect.
- (reported by fox) ex-husband alleges there was a violent altercation between him, his ex-wife (anna's stepmom), and anna's father, and that after this, anna moved out of the house.
- (reported by fox) stepmom denies there was any violent altercation

--------------

with all this going on in the background, anna turns up dead, and the stepbrother is reportedly a suspect.

i'm actually not sure if any of this family drama helps clarify the circumstances and causes of her death.

“Shauntel Hudson -- Kepner's stepmother, who was also on the cruise along with her children and Kepner's father -- requested a delay in her custody hearing because one of her minor children may face criminal charges, according to the filing.”
I think this is a poorly written sentence and it is causing confusion. If you put the phrase which is between the double dashes in parentheses instead, it means that Kepner’s father was on the cruise not that he also requested a delay in the custody hearing.

that would make a lot more sense to me. otherwise, 11:17 AM is a weird time to die, and you have an unexplained 16-hour gap since she was last seen.

the apple watch might give them a precise time of death all the same

I definitely need a family tree diagram. I’m not sure who moved out after the alleged altercation. Could have been Anna, or could have been the oldest child of Anna’s most recent stepmother. I interpreted it as the child was the biological child of Anna’s new stepmom and he moved out of the blended family house and back with the bio father who has initiated a custody motion.

It’s all written so poorly. DM should stick with great pictures.

This can’t be right:

“The respondent took the remaining minor children on a cruise with a stepchild of her paramour,' his filing says.

Anna wasn’t a stepchild of ‘her’ paramour. She was the biological child of ‘her’ husband. ‘Her’ being SHK, the respondent, and latest stepmother of Anna.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall hearing that the family had reported her missing and according to the snippet below... they HAD TO KNOW!!!! How could they NOT know? Were they covering up for him as soon as they returned to their cabin for the evening? I mean, those rooms aren't very large so you can't miss a full grown person.

Plus, she went to the cabin because she wasn't feeling well. Were they not concerned when they found her "missing"??? What a mess this case is.

According to family accounts reviewed alongside the filing, Anna, her father, stepmother, stepbrother Tim, and biological brother Connor shared a cruise cabin.

Bbm.
So the suspect is now sleuthable, iirc ?
Imo.

Emphasis mine.
CYA mode ?
Or something else.
Maybe they thought she was just elsewhere on the ship.

I'm guessing here that the family would've rather believed that a passenger or ship employee did this .... as opposed to their own family member ?

Quoting my post as things are NOT adding up. The above says all 5 of them shared a cabin. Now add in this:

But the next morning, she was nowhere to be found when her family gathered for breakfast. SOURCE

The next morning when gathering for BREAKFAST is when they noticed she wasn't around??? What about when they all returned to their SHARED cabin for the evening? Did they assume Anna was sleeping in someone else's cabin? Doubt it!! Didn't they try to contact her since they should have been worried about the fact she retired to their cabin because she wasn't feeling well?

Things are not adding up here!
