I guess I'm confused as to how many full siblings Anna had, we know about C who was on the cruise and in the same cabin, but was there a younger girl that we don't know whether or not she was on the cruise, and if so she would have been in the same cabin with the adults and B? So there would have been two adults and two younger kids in one cabin and the three older kids in the other cabin?

(Thinking of the "boy" who killed the paddle boarder in ME recently.) Wonder if this step brother had some other issues. I thought of that case also.

Not a cruiser but a veteran of cross-country train travel and booking the cabins to force AK into an uncomfortable, frightening and ultimately fatal proximity with a recent stepbrother whose interest in her they knew to be troubling is morally and maybe criminally indefensible. There must have been no way for her to manage it, short of staying awake and armed 24/7.

Awful case, and to me as maddening (if less premeditated) in terms of tone-deaf, bonkers parenting as the Scarlett Vickers "play fight" murder.

Only speculation and sleuthing on my part, but I wonder if the stepbrother in question, had slipped something into AK's drink at the dinner hour while they were all together? No doubt coroner will investigate closely on this.

*thankful for having strong, positive family dynamics growing up, and now with both parents passed....still close to my siblings 👍

This to me is curious. How do you not know your age?

I’d have to assume that it’s part grief and part nerves from being interviewed?

It’s hard for me to imagine that an 18-year old female would be interested in a 15-year old but who knows? She was brought up in an ever-changing and challenging environment, but still I can’t see it.

She seemed very clear-eyed about her family/families and was hoping to leave for the military.

I was curious if he misheard the question and was answering maybe how old he was when they started dating or if he thought he was being asked how old the stepbrother was. 15 might be the right answer for either of those questions.

I think this is probably why, plus wasn't the interview right after the memorial service?
There's the fact that he's been in touch with the FBI regarding the Facetime incident, too.
Maybe they met/started dating when he was 15 and he misunderstood... idk I'll give him some grace on this.
It has to be very unsettling to be so close to this horrible case.
IMO.

Maybe they started dating when he was 15? He also has a lot of reporters who were jockeying to get their question answered.

I honestly believe he’s in a psych hospital right now. Not with a relative. JMO

I'm on too many threads where I'm waiting for charges. Feels like an eternity. ETA that's probably a tad dramatic. I just don't like the wait.

Yes, I have to agree. It makes no sense to me that he's staying with a relative. He just murdered someone. He's dangerous, no telling what he would do, and it stands to reason he would need monitoring and surveillance....and psychiatric evaluation, since he's a minor.
