This part really gets me.
“She told me that she was uncomfortable with them [her step relatives] being at the house because she didn’t fully know who they were.”

Now we all know who they are.
And it’s too late for Anna.

Thing is, no evidence of SA doesn’t mean that he wasn’t trying to SA Anna. He may have attacked her, she may have been fighting back, and he put her in a chokehold - long enough to kill her.

Please don't tell me that the younger brother who was locked out and heard the commotion in the room was when the stepbrother attacked and killed Anna. I think so.... Chairs being thrown was perhaps Anna trying to protect herself.
This is awful, and her younger brother has to live with actually hearing this attack that resulted in his sister's death.

From your link (thank goodness for small favors):

the preliminary information indicates there were no signs of sexual assault and there did not appear to be drugs or alcohol in Kepner's system.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/teen-found-dead-carnival-cruise-died-asphyxiation/story?
But the rest of that paragraph says they can't yet confirm no sexual assault:

"According to the source, the preliminary information indicates there were no signs of sexual assault and there did not appear to be drugs or alcohol in Kepner's system. Autopsy and toxicology reports that could confirm those details have not been completed."

I think it was the night before. Not the night she was murdered.

I wonder if there might have been a problem with the older step and Anna that caused him to leave that left the 16 year old infuriated? IMO!!!

I can't even imagine his pain and fury! Blessing and a lifetime of therapy for this poor soul!

Can you imagine the nightmares? Poor child!

Was it ? I thought the commotion was the 6th, and Anna was found on the 7th in the morning.
I might be wrong.

This to me is curious. How do you not know your age?

I’d have to assume that it’s part grief and part nerves from being interviewed?

It’s hard for me to imagine that an 18-year old female would be interested in a 15-year old but who knows? She was brought up in an ever-changing and challenging environment, but still I can’t see it.

She seemed very clear-eyed about her family/families and was hoping to leave for the military.

It makes sense that it was nerves and grief. His being 15 didn't make sense to me because I thought he looked older, plus the age gap with Anna.

Here is what I picture happened.

Anna was having fun on the cruise, probably dancing on deck, likely with young men. Not paying much attention to T.H. A year or so earlier, he was a stranger to her, just another boy. A boy she was trying to now process as a stepbrother. T.H. never viewed her as a stepsister, simply saw her as a pretty girl, and one he had access to, living in their home. He had been obsessing over her. He wanted what he wanted. But, it wasn’t what she wanted. He got jealous and angry over the rejection. Decided he would take what he wanted.

He thought he was having some kind of relationship with her - but it was all, and only, in his own head.

Tale as old as time.

Moo ....maybe they just plain did not get along, did not like each other. His older brother has already left. What was the reason for that? A lot of conflict for a newly blended family
This is just my opinion. From what I have seen, the house where six children and two adults were living was very small. So, I can understand why Shauntel's oldest son went to live with his father (who probably is living by himself).

<modsnip: No approved source to information stated as fact>

I'll just say that the living situation did not seem ideal for these children. Thomas, Shauntel's ex-husband was trying to get custody of the two younger kids. I believe a court hearing was scheduled for December. Shauntel requested a delay in that case due to this situation.

It is a very sad situation for all involved. I just think about Anna's dreams of graduating and going into the military in a matter of months. All that is gone now. I don't know what will happen to the 16-year-old...

The Sun article seems iffy, wouldnt the younger brother tell the parents? wouldnt it be heard and reported? He didnt notice his sister not in the room when he got back? At 14 not much gets by a kid, remember how I was and she was his blood sister too. too much missing and speculating is making it muddier.

Is it normal for them to wait this long before arresting, or at the very least, interrogating the 16 year o

So there was a loud violent altercation between the older teens on the night of November 6.

The young sibling allegedly told Joshua that he was locked out of the room and heard “yelling and chairs being thrown in the cabin.”

“[He] heard him yelling at her in a harmful way, like, ‘Shut the hell up,’” Joshua claimed.

😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

To my knowledge, A loud violent altercation hasn't been proven. So far it is basically a rumor set fourth by the boy friend.

Ex-boyfriend. It's so hard to know where anyone in the picture is coming from right now. That said, I can't imagine being a kid and trying to deal with this surreal situation. It's pretty messed up all around.

I'm so confused by this whole thing! I think you're right? But if that true, i wonder what the dynamic was when the younger brother got back to the room? Did he think Anna has left the room bc of the fight?

I have not heard of Anna having a boyfriend. Just an ex-boyfriend, JT. If that's who you're talking about, how would he know? He wasn't there. I'd love to see your source for this. Thanks.

The ex said in his interview that the brother had told him but can't remember if he said by phone on text. Said he hasn't talked to him since because authorities told the family not to go public with info.
