It makes perfect sense that upon hearing the news, he texted the younger brother he'd had a relationship with to find out wth happened.Me too. He said he got the info from her bio brother.

I believe him too. After learning that the parents had shrugged off the disturbing behaviors of the 16 year old, I'm inclined to think that step-mom wrote this off as Anna having "attitude" and both parents may have thought sticking them in tight quarters in an inside cabin would force them to "work it out" among themselves, leaving themselves to night time "alone time" after the young one was asleep for the night in their own cabin.I’ve seen interviews, I believe him
Respectively snipped and boldedMoving the kid from the onboard "hospital" (where he was likely detained in lieu of security lockup) to a "relative" could mean they've ffectively disappeared him into hiding where he cannot be questioned and no further evidence can be obtained from him. I hope Carnival obtained pictures of bruises, fresh cuts, fingernail scrapings for dna, etc, but I wouldn't be surprised if not.
His mother may have immediately gone into protection mode and shielded him from everything. I'm curious as to whether this supposed "relative" picked him up immediately on his departure from the ship, circumventing even cursory questioning by ANY investigators.
?

I hadn't thought about this and you make a really good point. What type of investigative steps were taken prior to the family's, what do they call, it de-boarding?
I've only read about the interviews. Do you have links to actual video of said interviews?I’ve seen interviews, I believe him

Accidental is not making someone unconscious with a chokehold.I do not think it was an attempted SA, I feel like there would at least have been some evidence of that from initial reports. I think the stepbrother just got extremely angry over something, and that combined with his previous feelings put him over the top. I'd also say it could have been accidental and he just meant to make her unconscious with the chokehold, but that wouldn't explain the stuff afterward with using the life vests to try to cover it up.
I think it's reasonable to believe two caring parents would not need to be prompted by their other kids jmhoOne part of me think it's strange that apparently neither adult at any point that night went to check on Anna despite her saying she was sick. Although the other part seems it would be reasonable to expect one of the other two kids to come to the parents cabin and say "I think we need to take Anna to the Medical Center" if the situation called for it.
Complaining about him to cruise personnel would have most likely caused a lot of drama with the adults. I don't think she would have asked to be sequestered so she could emancipate once the cruise docked. Anna wa just biding her time until she could graduate and get gone. Sadly, that was taken from her.I hate it so much for her sake that she was seemingly afraid to approach a female staff member for help, or even a fellow female passenger. Someone might have been willing/able to help her get connected with security, or at least provide a place she could go to steer clear of Perv Stepbro. Do cruises have actual law enforcement, unarmed security, or just whatever staff is in the area at the time something happens? I've never been (the ocean and I aren't friends) so wasn't certain. MOO
Yes, in her family, complaining to staff would likely have only landed her *in trouble*. So sad for her. Total conjecture, but I can see those adults lecturing the kids before they started the trip along the lines of "we don't want to hear a WORD out of you 3 kids, NO fighting, NO fussing, not a single PEEP from any of you. We're sick of it. You have a whole ship to get lost on so you don't have to stay in your room on top of each other. Get along or get apart but don't complain to us".Complaining about him to cruise personnel would have most likely caused a lot of drama with the adults. That sounds much more eloquent, lol. I have never been on a cruise. Not my cup of tea at present. Thanks!Disembarking is the most commonly used term for leaving the ship.
Yes, but it's so sad that from her FB posts, she obviously had a wonderful time on the previous family cruise, so it would have been very surprising if she had opted out of this one. She posted pics of that earlier cruise, saying she wanted to go back to that time etc.At 18 she is considered an adult and could have stayed at the house without parental supervision like a minor would need to have.
There is a longer interview with the ex that I have watched on Inside Edition TikTok but have not been able to find a linkable source as I don't mingle TikTok with my laptop. Old school reasons. It goes into the details quite a bit.I've only read about the interviews. Do you have links to actual video of said interviews?
Well that's weird though, because I remembered seeing posts she had made after returning home from the first cruise, where she posted pics from that cruise and commented how she wished she were back on the cruise. I guess no matter how fabulous a time you might have, by the last day, you're ready to go home!my bad. it was a different cruise, 6 months ago, where she posted a video that ended with "i wanna go home".
DISREGARD WHAT I SAID, PEOPLE.
