Police: 5-month-old on life support after Pinellas father stuffs balled-up baby wipe down his throat
A Pinellas County infant is fighting for his life after police say his father intentionally stuffed a balled-up baby wipe down his throat.
Michael Hurley, 32, has been arrested on a charge of attempted murder in the first degree.
When officers arrived, Hurley told police he "knows this looks bad," and characterized the matter as a "freak accident," adding that he couldn't remember exactly what had happened, the affidavit continues.
Police would later arrest the baby’s father on a charge of attempted first-degree murder. He was being held late Thursday with bail set at $500,000.
