Typically the large glass jars are wide mouth and gallon size. Years ago they were kept on the counters at delis, restaurants, etc.

But there are stores that still sell foods in those size jars. Particularly restaurant supply stores.

I think a babies head, while always narrowed by the birth canal, would need to be small to be slid into the opening of the jar.
