Alligators found eating human remains in Florida Everglades, police say

Authorities in South Florida are investigating after two alligators were discovered devouring a dead body on the edge of the Everglades.

Davie police officers responded Monday to a call from fishermen about alligators eating possible human remains on a canal bank in Southwest Ranches, about 15 miles from Fort Lauderdale, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

“We want to identify who the victim is and possibly figure out what happened to them, how did they end up here,” police Sgt. Pablo Castaneda told reporters, according to the newspaper. “Could it be homicide? Could it be suicide? Could it have been natural — a fisherman?

“We don’t know.”

I saw this in the Naples News this morning. There are always a lot of folks who go missing in Fla. it seems. I was checking the missing files and was wondering about a couple of these folks. Both have been missing for almost two months and they are from that area, and went missing on the same day. With it being almost two months, in Fla., though, that's a long time considering the circumstances of Fla.'s weather.

I'm so sorry for the person who has died and their family what a terrible way to die. May the victim Rest In Peace.

I read this article and couldn't believe the alligators grow. This one was wondering around a golf course in Florida and people stood looking at it. I would have been terrified and hobbled out of there on my crutches ASAP. 34C77A8700000578-3616875-image-a-21_1464643023228.jpg
