MIAMI – Police asked the public’s help in searching for a missing 20-year-old woman Thursday.

According to Miami police, Cassandra Jean Risso was last seen in the Brickell area on Tuesday.

Risso is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Police said she was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and white shoes.

Police are urging anyone that knows her whereabouts to please call Miami Police Department at 305-603-6300 or 305-579-6111.

This could be already outdated, but last time I was on Brickell (3 years?) it had become an upscale Coconut Grove. Did she work there? Live there? Eat? Drink? Shop?

Why does one he description not match the photo? Blonde hair & blue eyes?

And two, only 20yo? My apologies but she doesn't look 20...

Is this by any chance the same girl? Went missing at 14, in 2016.

The 20-year-old is considered to be endangered and, according to police, was last seen traveling with a black and brown German Shepard.

Two questions:
1) Why is she considered endangered? Doesn't that imply some knowledge that isn't being shared with the public?
2) What crime(s) does SVU investigate?

It varies, but the Miami PD SVU unit specifically is tasked with sexual battery, child abuse, and missing persons. So deployment of SVU seems pretty standard procedure for missing persons, IMO.

"Endangered" doesn't necessarily mean imminent. It could be requiring medication, or maybe a diagnosis of a traumatic brain injury, or something otherwise that requires check-in, and her having been out of contact is concerning, IMO. I don't know specifically why they've designated 'endangered' here.
