Found Deceased FL - Cassie Carli 37, & Saylor (safe) met Ex to exchange custody, Navarre Beach, 27 Mar 2022 *Arrest

Exactly. Or paternal grandparents try to get custody and it becomes a cruel game.

Given MS only had custody 1 weekend every 14 days and after the murder itself, I’d think custody would be weighted more towards the maternal side.

I understand why you might ask that but, so far, has there been any indication that his family helped or participated in this tragedy? I think it's not always fair to not allow the other side of the family to interact with the child. Saylor is with the maternal side of the family btw.
IMO, The children of murder victims seem to be better well adjusted when living with the murdered member's side rather than the murderer's family who then brainwashes them that they were falsely convicted. Very stressful for a child. If you lean towards "Nurture" in nature vs nurture then should the murderer's family have another child to damage?

I understand that. I just don't think it's fair or makes sense to say right away "no, the child can't have any contact with the other side of the family". It needs to be looked at, can't be simply "no because their son is horrible and killed her mommy".

I think regarding Maya Millete's children it should be the other way around because it's very clear that the paternal side of the family is not very healthy for them, but they still have custody of the children. It's not a one size fits all type of situation, what matters the most is what's best for Saylor. I'm glad she's safe and this little girl will grow up knowing that her father killed her mommy and that's SO horrible.

So very sorry to see this update. My prayers are with Cassie, her daughter and family. Thank you @Allabouttrial once again for your breakdown of the presser.

The barn is WAY on the left as you face the home. See the zillow post above, there are pics of the inside of the barn as well.

This is just up the street from where MS worked

Yeah it’s way at the left edge of the property. Going down the street past 7885 on the opposite side of the street.

Thank goodness he’s sooo dumb! Those Alabama woods are vast… not only trees, but seemingly never ending thick vines and shrub cover as well. RIP Cassie :(

Thankful as well that he was a fool without a plan.
Seems like he panicked and thought he would bury her in a barn and nobody would notice?

Or he didn’t think they’d link that property to him since it’s not his property (per county appraisal records).

Do we know yet how he is linked to the property then?

He didn't get all of his GPS turned off or the new owners didn't like him digging on their property!

There is a beautiful prayer vigil taking place on the beach right now. I'm hoping they'll stream live so that anyone can watch.

So terribly sad yet not unexpected.

Poor Saylor. It was never about her and her well-being. It was all about him.

Disgusting.
