review - status on extradition set for April 13th

"I'm just trying to make sure my daughter is taken care of with the people that I'm (long pause here) that I'm familiar with"

probably going to try to fight the maternal family from getting her and try to insert his own family member of choice. Similar to Mark Seivers.
Do we have any legal experts here who could weigh in on the likelihood of this child being placed with his family vs her mothers family? I would think it has to help the mothers family’s case that the little girl and her mother were living with the maternal father/grandfather at the time of Cassie’s death.

That's quite a statement from a person who's just been accused of murdering his daughter's mother.
This guy is a control freak. What he doesn't know or seems to understand is, HE'S DONE! Let him be an 🤬🤬🤬 with lawyers etc PARTY IS OVER!!!!!!!

Slain Florida mom's ex-boyfriend was ordered to pay her $5,920 in attorney fees 9 days before she disappeared

Just nine days before slain Floridamother Cassie Carli disappeared while attempting to pick up her 4-year-old daughter from her ex-boyfriend, Marcus Spanevelo, a judge ordered Spanevelo to pay Carli $5,920 in attorney fees related to a years-long custody battle, according to court records.

<snip>

On March 18, a judge ordered Spanevelo to pay Cassie $5,920 in legal fees associated with the court battle within 30 days.

Cassie attended the hearing over zoom in the office of her attorney, Aaron Wentz.

"Everybody in the office is pretty upset about it. We've been dealing with Cassie for quite some time. Very, very wonderful young lady," Wentz told Fox News Digital on Monday. "As far as the lengthy court battle that's been going on, it never got to the point where I felt like something like this would happen, honestly. This was a shock."

Wentz said his office does not have any records indicating that Spanevelo paid Cassie any of the $5,920 that the judge ordered him to pay her.

It alarms me that the little girl is with the Dad’s family. I hope her family has good attorneys to help them. Now it makes sense why he said during the hearing that he wanted his daughter to be with people he was familiar with.

CONTD: Spanevelo refuses to waive extradition, saying he needs to make sure his daughter is taken care of first
@WKRN
Oh, GMAB----if he was so concerned with his child's wellbeing, he wouldn't have buried her mommy in that barn. What a sick thing to say and he is just a coward, not a concerned father.

He can try all he wants. Saylor was living with her mother at her grandpa's house (Cassie's dad) - its the place that she knows, the place that she's comfortable with, and in my opinion, in her best interest to live there.

So...is the little girl with the Dad's family or social services??

Cassie Carli missing death Navarre Beach Springville barn

According to the property owner in Springville, Ala., Spanevelo spent the past several weeks helping to renovate a home about 150 yards from the barn.
can you imagine how this homeowner feels :eek: hire a dude to work on your home and he buries the wife he murdered (allegedly - eyeroll) in your barn? and this arrogant [self edit] MS probably thought he was being so dang clever.

I've seen several reports that she was in the care of CPS but others that she was with maternal family. I wonder if both were/are true. CPS first while being interviewed by professionals in age appropriate manner and then later released to maternal family caregivers?

There's also conflicting reports she is with dad's family.

most recent article I could find indicates Saylor is still in care of CPS

Authorities said the 4-year-old was taken by Alabama Child Services and checked on by the Tennesse Department of Children and Families after she and Spanevelo were located in Birmingham.

Saylor’s family is still waiting to receive custody of the girl.

on another note, I somehow missed the fact that Cassie's phone was located. trying to find a better link to that info as this one is questionable to me. I hope so and hope they can find evidence in it's data that is helpful in convicting MS.

Johnson informed reporters on April 3 that Spanevelo reportedly grabbed Carli's mobile phone and disposed of it, which has since been found in an anonymous location. The sheriff said that Spanevelo "lied a couple of times in different scenarios" and "never cooperated" with police investigations in Carli's case.

It's all about CONTROL and continuing to torture her family.

IMO, he will not do well being locked up. Serves him right.

Johnson said Sunday that the evidence cited in the charges relates to Spanevelo reportedly taking Carli’s phone and getting rid of it, though authorities are now in possession of the phone. When asked by a reporter at the conference what Spanevelo lied about, Johnson said only that “he lied a couple times in different scenarios.”

on another topic. Has anyone heard one peep from any friend or family member of MS? Either to speak well of him or otherwise? I find it odd that not a single soul, family, coworker, friend, neighbor, has had a single word to say about him.
