You are correct. There may be specific communities with HOAs or condos with leases that have banned guns on the premises, but if they exist, I have not heard of them. Florida recently overturned the need for a concealed carry license, so anyone can concealed carry as long as you are of age and not a felon. Florida law also says your right to keep and bear arms in your home overrides signs posted by property management. So even if your apartment complex has a sign that says ‘no firearms’, if you did not sign a lease with a clause agreeing not to have firearms on the premises, you can still have a weapon in your unit, and coming and going to your unit.Also not an American, but my understanding of guns and Florida is that the laws and attitudes are... pretty free and easy, to put it mildly. I don't think anyone would be prevented from owning a gun if they lived in an apartment block.
