Based upon her photos her hair was curly and she wore glasses. People change over time hair could be straighten later (IMO it appears natural not a perm) and she may have acquired contacts. Noteworthy clues when searching for someone thou.

This is Margie, Cathy’s sister. She did not have a perm and stopped wearing glasses. Drury is my mother’s maiden name and the date on the plaque was my mother’s guess of her disappearance.
Her disappearance is still a mystery to all of us.

Hi Margie, Your awesome Mom was my landlady, and Cathy lived above me on Hyde Park Ave. I may have even attended your wedding, (or was it another Decesare daughter?), with my boyfriend, the late Rick S, who was a friend of your brother. I remember how we all danced at the Columbia at the reception, and Cathy was one of the bridesmaids.
I think of Cathy and your family often to this day..
Your parents were so cool, and I can't imagine how they have endured the anguish of not knowing what happened to their daughter..
I hope and pray that new information shall come to light one day...
I am so glad to have found this page and see that Cathy has not been forgotten!
. I remember Cathy telling me the motto she swore by. I can still hear her saying how important is was to treat everyone like royalty...

Hi Margie, Your Mom was my landlady, and Cathy lived in same apt. building. I think of you and your family and your parents often, and can't imagine the anguish you have suffered. Rick S was my boyfriend in the 80s, and he was a friend of your brothers and Cathy. I remember your awesome Mom and Dad, and even attending a family wedding with you all! We danced at the Columbia. Cathy was such a trusting soul. I can still hear her saying that it was important to treat everyone like royalty! I am so glad to find this forum and know she is not forgotten. May light be shed on the mystery of her disappearance some day!

I assume she was married (at least for a time) to Mark Stephen Goshen. There is a marriage record from October 1979 in Hillsborough, Florida for Catherine Anne Decesare to him. Additionally, his obituary from 2011 (which makes no mention of her) states that he also went to Plant High School. I only raise the marriage in case it may throw any light on her personal circumstances at the time she went missing.

They were not married in the traditional sense. They were more like friends. They didn't even live together. They decided they would officially divorce the day skylab fell to earth in the 80s LOL. I don't know if they ever officially divorced though. We all would laughed about it. They were very very young when they married and neither was capable of taking it seriously. Mark was a friend of my old boyfriend and Cathy, and Mark and Rick and other kids from their friend group all hung out together. Mark died around 5 years ago give or take. He had nothing to do with her going missing. Cathy was working as a dancer at 7 Seas at the time she went missing. Seven Seas was a very seedy seedy place and if that was the last place she was seen, I suspect she met up with a bad character who was there the date she went missing..though Im just speculating.

I see where the NamUS page was just created in the last year. Are they taking a fresh look at the case? A good photo of her should be added so a reconstruction of a Jane Doe will hopefully, trigger someone’s memory. No mention of DNA from her but maybe the family can provide some.

I hope to god they are relooking at the case! At the time Cathy went missing we had all moved away from the Apt her mother owned, and it had been torn down. We had all gone our separate ways and I had lost touch with her. I kept in touch with our mutual friend Rick over the years, and was always asking if he had heard any updates. Unfortunately he passed away two years ago. When I saw this website I was thrilled! Its the most I've ever seen about her. Whomever started this post I am extremely thankful to, and I pray someday whomever could have harmed the gentle soul of Cathy Decesare will come to face justice. Though she was a dancer, it was simply because employment at the time was hard to find, and Cathy was not one who could easily adjust to a regular job. She was extremely bright, but had difficulty with the regular demands of making a living. She may have had ADD or some other type of attention disability. Thats just my guess however. She was a gentle soul and probably much too trusting of the wrong person. It is so awesome to talk about her here. I moved from Florida in 1990...so I have been away from Tampa for a long time.

I did not mean to suggest he had anything to do with her disappearance. Rather, I wondered if a breakup could have triggered decisions or behaviour on her part. But your explanation seems to rule that out. As a minor aside; Skylab fell to earth in July 1979 which was before they married in the October according to Ancestry. The additional information about the location and her occupation does, unfortunately, increase the probability that, as you say, she met the wrong person.
