FL - Chad Oulson, 43, killed in Wesley Chapel theater shooting, 13 Jan 2014 *Former LE arrest*

Speaking about delays...even if CR is convicted he will appeal. The bearded gentlemen sitting on his left is an appeal attorney carefully watching every move in this case. Then no doubt CR will get yet another "professional courtesy" and be under house arrest again if that is possible. An appeal would take many years and possibly more time than he has on this earth.

I've heard the exact opposite from people in the area. Guess it depends on who you are talking to.
I am on the west side of the county, New Port Richey.

Once again, better audio quality at 10 Tampa Bay (Live). Here is a YouTube link:

Witness is Mark Turner. As I recall from Bond Hearing, he knows what he knows. Don't try to bully him.

Well I thought Mark Turner was pretty cut and dried...as above "he knows what he knows" but once again the defense is bulldozing him

His story is so much different than everyone else's. What a mess!

Yep. The defense is really having to work hard at it though.

Definitely tense Q & A

What really surprises me about the local talk is the anger over how delayed this trial has been and is blamed solely on LE protecting LE. Now mind you, as a rule, we are back the blue but it has backfired in this case.
It's not even LE that has caused the delays. It's the Justice System. I think that society has a right to be able to feel safe, and ANYONE shooting inside a movie theater is a danger to society. It should never, ever take this long for a trial to take place.

They are and it’s disgusting.

I liked the work of the defense team until today.

They are badgering the witness. I can’t believe the judge is allowing this!

The state rested. I'm shocked.

Aggressive questioning is one thing but the defense attorney seemed unduly hostile toward several witnesses. All jmo, of course. I'm the worst at predicting what jurors think/see, though.

From what I watched of the SYG hearings that people posted in here, the prosecution does the same with the defense witnesses. I guess it's rough if you are a witness in Pasco county.

I think today honestly could not have left a good impression with the jury for the defense. The attack on the nurse was beyond belief.

It's possible the prosecution could be hostile towards defense witnesses... we'll soon see!

I don’t think the jury will believe Reeves was afraid for his life.

He initiated the exchange. That’s not something you do if you’re a vulnerable, frail person.

Your general mindset will be to avoid confrontation and keep yourself to yourself.

If something else’s behaviour is bothering you, there are alternative options:
  1. Say nothing and ignore it
  2. Go and sit somewhere else.
On the basis that he has previous for exactly the same thing, he clearly thinks he’s got some kind of authority, and has a superiority complex.

People like that aren’t afraid,

IMO what he was looking at on his phone has no relevance to the case.

The claims that the victim was texting the babysitter to check on his child was obviously made to generate sympathy. If it was untrue, and the victim was on Facebook or a sports website, then the "texting the babysitter" was a lie. Question is, who lied and why? I think it has a great deal of relevance to the case.

Pasco County resident, senior citizen, live in a mainly senior aged neighborhood. Playing the aged card is not working, and in fact, offensive, to myself and neighbors. He was only 71. Most older people here don't even consider someone as elderly until at least they are in their 80s. Talk in the neighborhood has him guilty as charged.
Ok, whatever you say, age 71 is not elderly.

Personally, I don’t think that’ll be given much, if any weight at all.

Oulsen could have been watching hardcore 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and it wouldn’t have justified someone shooting him dead.

The person that said they were text the babysitter is dead, so whether he lied to the defendant or not is neither here nor there, for me.

Ultimately, if you insert yourself into someone else business, you have to reasonably expect that they might respond in a way you didn’t anticipate/weren’t expecting.

He put himself in a situation that had a good chance of escalating, and it did.

You can’t just turn to your gun and shoot people when things don’t go your way.

If this guy doesn’t spend the rest of his life in jail, there’s something seriously wrong with the American Justice System.
