Everybody is going to hate me for this post, but after spending a significant amount of time on the mom's FB, I seriously am leaning toward KB really being a "normal" person, until she let drugs ruin her life. I honestly think that she was excited to be pregnant with her husband's child, and wanted to have a "happily ever after" with JW. It's so sad that drug usage messed that up. Sweet baby Duane's death was so devastating to KB. I think she really loved him. And when she found out she was pregnant with precious Chance, she was happy that she and the love of her life would once again have happiness. Imo, the drugs just took over, and she is disgusted with herself for succumbing to his demise.
I never, EVER would've thought that I would understand how a parent could possibly harm their own sweet child. I still don't. But, I think Kristen would've been capable of being a good mom to Chance if she wouldn't have been under the influence.
I have no first-hand knowledge of the influence drugs have on any situation (Thank God), but I honestly think that if drugs weren't involved, baby Chance would've been a happy kid.

I don't hate you for it! I like to read all points of view. The problem I have is that from things I have seen on her page to things she reportedly said at the scene when little Duane died, I honestly think she killed him too.

I'm just going to go to bed with my 3 month old little boy now. People suck. :tears:

In addition to Chance's death I've been thinking about his brother Duane's & I can't help but wonder if the ME who carried out that autopsy missed something. I did some research into "flakka", which has been mentioned in conjunction with KB and one of the side effects is kidney damage.

"Another serious, potentially lingering side effect of flakka is the effect on kidneys. The drug can cause muscles to break down, as a result of hyperthermia, taking a toll on kidneys. Experts worry that some survivors of flakka overdoses may be on dialysis for the rest of their life." http://www.nbc-2.com/story/29165239...s-it-more-dangerous-than-cocaine#.ViNWAxCrRE4

"Muscle tissue begins to break down, releasing proteins and other cellular products into the bloodstream, in a process called rhabdomyolysis. The extreme struggling can also cause dehydration. The end result of the cellular products and proteins released during rhabdomyolysis and dehydration can impair the filtering function of the kidneys, leading to renal failure and death." http://www.medicinenet.com/flakka_drug_side_effects_and_complications-page2/views.htm

"An autopsy determined that Duane Jacob Walsh died of acute pyelonephritis, a severe kidney infection. Sarasota County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Russell Vega said the infection was the first he’s seen in an autopsy of an infant." http://www.winknews.com/2015/10/09/search-continues-for-missing-north-port-baby/

"Sarasota County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Russell Vega said at the time the investigation into Duane’s death may be reopened depending on the outcome of Chase’s disappearance. The paper reported that no significant injuries were found on Duane, but there was a significant acute kidney infection, which was the first of its kind Vega found during an infant autopsy." http://www.insideedition.com/headli...e-found-buried-in-woods-we-have-confirmed-our

"Acute Pyelonephritis: Acute pyelonephritis is a potentially organ- and/or life-threatening infection that often leads to renal scarring."
In children aged 2 years or younger, the most common signs and symptoms of urinary tract infection (UTI) are as follows:
Failure to thrive
Feeding difficulty
Fever
Vomiting"

!IMO! in my head, I have:
KB uses flakka whilst pregnant with Duane
KB gives birth to Duane
Poor Duane has kidney damage due to KB's drug use, doesn't thrive, and unfortunately dies
KB chooses cremation over burial for some reason (personal preference / cost / hide evidence?)
KB gets pregnant again with Chance
KB gives birth to Chance but "despises him because he isn't Duane"
Poor Chance is killed

This is all MOO and I could be barking up the wrong tree - it hurt to even think this - but it's been bugging me from the start. I wonder if Duane's body was ever tested for flakka. If not, I wonder if the ME retained any tissue samples that can be tested retrospectively.

RIP Chance & Duane :rose::rose:

While it's entirely possible that poor Duane suffered from problems related to KB's drug use, kidney infections can and do occur in people with normal, healthy, functioning kidneys. (Like me, so personal experience with the following.) What is absolutely horrifying is that kidney pain is among the worst pain a person can experience. And you don't just get a kidney infection out of nowhere, you get one from an untreated bladder infection that moves up to the kidney. So she wasn't cleaning him or changing his diaper, and maybe not feeding him enough to flush out any bacteria.

I can't believe they didn't charge her with something for his death.

I can kind of understand his state of denial. If my sister did something like this, it would be much less painful for me to blame it on the dude she's with, KWIM?

Thing is after reading here At WS for so long I find more Mothers Kill their Children than Fathers. JW had 7 he didn't kill them. He lost Custody.
KB has had 2 babies in as many years and both are dead that is telling me something.

Hey! Great post! My only thing to add here is she was not the only one on drugs his Daddy was also and had lost 7 other children from his custody so no matter if KB got her act together JW would still be in the picture to ruin it. IMO she cared more for JW than the baby and I feel JW hated the time she spent with the baby and not with him. KB adored the man .
He had 7 removed from him and his ex. These children were alive. With Kristin she had 2 with him and both are dead. This screams at me. she also gave away a child 10 yrs ago
And depending who u talk to around here there are others she had and gave away.

This woman (she is not a teen) should never have had kids.

She is listed as DISABLED under employment in her arrest report from Sarasota County. Was she collecting Social Security Disability? And what kind of disability did she claim she had?

someone said they thought Bi POlar!

It's been a long time since I had a newborn but I recall taking them to the doctor about a week after they were born, for all the routine checks to see how they were doing (eating, sleeping, weight gain, any concerns from me, etc.). Did baby Duane have a pediatrician? Did she take him in for his 1 week? I suspect not, only because of everything I've read about her lifestyle: live-in baby-daddy was #1 and drugs were #2 in the order of priority. I just can't wrap my head around how a 22 day old baby could have a severe kidney infection and die from it, at TWENTY-TWO days old, and no one notice the symptoms.

So I suspect they both probably DID notice the symptoms, and JW convinced KB not to take him in, due to the possibility of him being taken away. Just like the others. :(

KB babbled about the pediatrician on FB. KB claims she did voice her concerns to the pediatrician that Duane seemed to be urinating more frequently than normal but the pediatrician blew her off. KB then went on to blame the medical center for Duane death and warned everyone not to take their children there. Who knows if it's actually true, but that's what KB posted.

As for JW, I doubt he cared one way or another about the state taking child #8 away from him. All he seems to have cared about was sports and meth and his comfy couch.

I don't think she's actually disabled. If she was collecting SS for disability it was more likely than not, a scam.

It's really difficult to get SSD. Did she ever have any kind of job or career? You have to have paid into it. SSI, maybe, but you don't have to be disabled to get that. I think she was for whatever reason too disabled to get a job (or thought she was) but that doesn't mean she was collecting disability.

Two years ago, when my son was born...we took him to the doctor for his first appointment 4 days after he was born. Then he had an appointment at 2 weeks old. Then his next one wasn't until 2 months old.

I have a hard time believing frequent urination was the ONLY sign something was wrong.

As far as the autopsy someone mentioned earlier.....I would think an ME would be able to tell the difference between kidney failure (from drugs or whatever) and an infection. I assume some type of bacteria was present to indication the infection.

Bury met Walsh in rehab, the friend says, and together they had a son, Duane. Duane was just 2 weeks old when he allegedly died of a kidney infection that resulted from a botched circumcision, according to the friend.

We may never know if drugs played a role in Duane's death or if his death was the impetus to revisit drugs, But we can be pretty sure the drugs played a role, IMO, to Chance's murder.
