If LE can't pinpoint a cause of death, the parents will claim that an accident happened and they panicked and buried him. I don't think either will get much time on any charges.

Hopefully, with two dead babies on the table (sorry for the expression), LE and prosecutors can find something that will up the charges to murder. Esp since they are reopening Duane's case, too. (Didn't I read that?)

My heart is too heavy to post my usual obnoxious rant about people who murder infants. Chance and Duane have broken my cold, black heart. I can't even.....

If the bloody apartment is used as evidence, won't they be charged with murder? I haven't read that it was Chance's blood, but it had to be someone's.

I agree, the DP would be for a charge of premeditated murder. If they claim it was an accident and there is no proof of them planning it I doubt they will get the DP. Hopefully (for the sake of charging them) they will find evidence to rule the death a homicide, then maybe they can use the comments of the mother such as fearing she will hurt him and that she despises him or whatever it was to argue it was premeditated. If they can't find a cause or determine method of death and neither parent admits what happened (assuming it really wasn't an accident) and say it was an accident and they freaked and buried him or something I don't know what they can do. May be looking at another Rachelle Bond situation, but I hope not.

I can't understand why these people did not just give the baby to a family member to raise. Why keep him and kill him, unless it actually was an accidental death, or something due to their drug-fueled negligence? I guess I'll never understand people like this.

Good and thoughtful comments, fizzy. You're right -- first degree might be a tuff one -- unless he was choked or beaten. There's always that "however short" verbiage about premeditation. You can stop choking or beating & the person could still be alive. SMH.

We will have to have a lot of patience... We want a trial NOW!

Only silver lining in all this is that Chance will receive the respect of a proper burial and an outpouring of love from a community he didn't get to know. RIP little angel.
PS...Just hoping for short term score settling provided by jail justice.

They couldn't give him to family because that would only prove the families were right that these two were useless and pathetic people who couldn't do anything right (sentiments expressed over the years quite publicly on Facebook by numerous family members). These two had an "us against the world" mentality and there is no way they would admit their families were right about their faults and failures all along. As heinous as it sounds, to them, killing the child was better than admitting their families were right about them all these years.

I just think that only the two of them (KB and JW) knew where Chance was, so one of them had to be the tipster. I only hope that the one that talked does not walk.

Remembering back to the first discovery was blood splatter and human remains..............I think Chance's tiny body will show what they did to him. I fear the LE and responders saw something more heartbreaking than expected. Dear baby.............

Did they exhume Duane's little body? Someone in an article had claimed a 'botched' Circumcision done at 2 weeks..........did these 2 idiots do it themselves?

They are considering re-opening Duane's investigation, but I can't see what good it would do. They can't exhume his body for a more thorough autopsy because he is now reduced to ashes in an urn, sadly. They could re-examine the samples and slides from the original autopsy but I don't hold much hope they'll find anything new there. Unless the 's confess new details about the death of Duane I think that ship has sailed.

Isn't it an hour and 10 minutes ago? I'm assuming it's their time (EST) on there, or is it your timezone since you're looking at it? I would assume it's just reporters getting ready for or doing reports for the evening news shows.

Yeah, they found him this afternoon. LE was searching the area after they got a tip that his body was buried there.

Maybe I'm dense but where do you see they are still looking? That last tweet posted had tents set up for all the media there, who are probably doing news reports live from there on their evening news. Here we have 5 & 6pm news, it most timezones its 6 & 7pm, which would be around this time. It says the media is swarming, but I'm sure now it's to get the story out "on location", because of what happened today, not what is still going on, if anything.

The post time was my time - PDT - so just a few minutes ago. But yeah, I think media were just getting video while it's still light out. We're all waiting to hear from the sheriff that the ME has officially confirmed it was Chance but I doubt it would be announced at the burial site.
