I wonder if the victim found in the burned house was a parent of the boy.
The only one missing at this point is the stepfather. There have been 3 bodies found at the fire, one child and 2 women.
Interesting about the truck and trailer being left (running) with the trailer in the water. That's a VERY busy boat ramp, especially on the weekends. LOTS of F&W and sheriff's department vehicles stop there to hang around and do reports, use the facilities etc. Someone should have noticed that unattended vehicle blocking the boat launch.

3rd body found in Malabar house fire, believed intentionally set

Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set to cover up homicides, due to evidence found at the scene.

Officials believe the home was occupied by Tony and Chrissy Hughes, Chrissy's 9-year-old son, Sebastian Meachum.
The fourth person known to have been an occupant of the residence is 39-year-old Linda Woods, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, the sister of Chrissy Hughes.

During a recovery search of the home, fire crews discovered the remains of two adult females and a child inside.

Just terrible:

"Investigators say initial examinations of the the two women's bodies revealed trauma that indicates they were killed prior to the fire.
Tony Hughes is missing, investigators said, and his boat was found empty offshore near Sebastian Inlet State Park."

So did the 🤬🤬🤬 jump off the boat to die OR did he jump off and swim to safety---to escape the grisly murder scene?

I think if it was a murder suicide he would have just offed himself with his family beside him. Setting the fire screams COVER UP to me---not murder /suicide.

I think the vile coward got away with murder...

I've wondered about that too. And yes, setting the fire means an attempt to cover up the crime and why would you do that if you're planning on killing yourself? Any chance he got a buddy to go out in another boat, faked his suicide, and had the buddy pick him up?

What in the world is happening to society? No idea what issues the adults were having, but murder isn't the answer! My heart aches for all the victims, and their families left to pick up the pieces of their lives and attempt to go on living.

Sounds to me like he faked his own death. There's a way to have your boat do the "circle of death" where it continuously goes in circles. How he got away from the boat (if he did) puzzles me. It's very dangerous to jump in water when boat is circling like that. But I really think he's faked his death. Cut yourself, drip blood in boat, set the throttle to do whatever (I'm boat challenged) and make a getaway.

Autopsy: Adults found inside burned Malabar home had been shot

June 20, 2017

Two women whose bodies were found in the ashes of a Malabar home had been shot, but the 9-year-old boy also found dead in the home had not, according to an autopsy report.

The boy, Sebastian Meachum, had "no visible signs of trauma," the chief investigator in the Brevard County Medical Examiner's Office said.

[...]

Hughes and Woods had been shot in the chest, chief investigator Craig Engelson said Tuesday.

[...]

"We suspect the fire played a major part in the boy's death," Engelson said.

The Medical Examiner's Office is awaiting test results that will tell them whether any of the victims were still breathing at the time of the fire, he said.
