I'd like to know if the shovel had been used...I would think there would be some indication if it had or not (i hope not). This is awful.

Police: Suspect in missing UF student had shovel, duct tape

Police said they have recovered a shovel and duct tape in their investigation into a missing University of Florida student.

Is this bad reporting?

I just called the news desk and the reporter said that the info of the tape and shovel being recovered just started coming across the AP news wire.

I asked him if he was sure because so far they are the only station reporting that. He assured me it was a valid report.

IIRC, no evidence has been found around the Motorsports parking lot. That is where Bravo said he left Christian. I think the area where they're searching now is where Christian's last cell phone records indicate he was.

ColdPizza, I'm wondering if you would add to your map the Best Buy store and also Bravo's address. I'd like to see where they are in relation to the current search area. TY!

Something that mystifies me is why the CD they purchased would be missing. Did Bravo remove the CD from the case and leave it with Christian as sort of a message to him? Does anyone know the title of Kanye West's lastest CD?

Wait. I'm confused. In the news conference the officer said they had EVIDENCE that pedro had purchased a shovel & duct tape. Now this news report says that they actually RECOVERED it.

So what's the real story here?

That would be helpful info, wouldn't it. :what:

I am in shock, also. How can you harm/kill your friend... how can you PREMEDITATE the harming/killing of your friend. I will never understand.

I think it's in his car which they haven't found yet. Not sure what the title is but I know that Kanye West is Christian's favorite artist so he may have bought it to kind of lure him in to hanging out with him. Maybe as something to listen to in the car as a distraction while they were driving around.

Just looked up the title of the latest CD. It's "Cruel Summer."

The Kanye West CD is titled, "Cruel Summer."

Thanks Surfie and Gatorgirl! That title "Cruel Summer" could very well be a message. Bravo apparently was unhappy with a lot of things that happened to him over the summer and maybe held Christian responsible for at least part of it. Yeh, the CD is likely still in the car. But, I wonder where they found the case and cover, and why they weren't still in the car. Did Bravo want to keep it as a "momento"?

I'm thinking they may have found the case and wrapper in his apartment since they had a search warrant for it. But I could obviously be very wrong.

"One official said a reason for that is, given Bravo’s purchase of a shovel, to look for ground that had been disturbed rather than to look for evidence on top of the ground.

Meanwhile, an officer said a psychic had called with information."

I wonder what the psychic could have said???

I'm still not seeing anyone else reporting the shovel and duct tape as being recovered. I'm going to believe at this point that was bad reporting.

I've found three different articles stating that it was recovered but I also think it was misinterpretation/bad reporting.

Also, there will be another live police briefing at 2 pm.

I think it is bad reporting. In the presser, they said they had evidence that he had purchased those items, not that they recovered them. I'm thinking they found a receipt somewhere - in his apartment perhaps, and then corroborated it on surveillance videos.

I think Pedro has been simmering for some time with jealousy. Christian was living the life he thought he should have. I think also he probably concocted a fantasy and prospective story of him being a hero of some sort (tried to rescue Christian from the bad carjackers or something) and also could swoop in and comfort the ex-girlfriend.

FYI gatorgirl were not allowed on WS to go down the psychic path of discussion. It's always a curious topic but it can really derail things quickly.
