Im just so sad at all the cases on here. My heart hurts tonight and I'm so emotional. Yet I can't walk away.

Hugs to all of you ... I always think that the people on this site are amongst the most caring out there.

I can't even imagine the pain. What a touching and close familia. It's so much different in Spanish Cultures as far as family goes. There's nothing more important, and that closeness can span many including cousins and many generations across the world. I can understand that even Christian's family is feeling sadness for Pedro's.

Hidden lake is a possibility, but he would have had to researched it and known about it before.
Newnans is very low. It's possible from lakeshore dr, but it is a well traveled road.
Bivens lake is also on a well traveled road.

The problem would be access to a boat. I have heard of none. That would leave dropping off in an area that he new about, but they are generally in very public areas.

Someone who had been in the area longer or had access to a boat, then I would think it was a possibility.

I think a swampy area or burial is more likely.

Totally agree, and, yet/also, I feel like it is a calculated move. The tone of the article is entirely different than all the previous articles.

I take that as a good thing, though....calculated to appeal to those same values and mores that LE/family know the Bravo's hold dear too.

Perhaps to put pressure on Pedro's family to put pressure on Pedro to do the right thing.

Kinda makes it double heartbreaking.

:-(

I live near one of the areas that was searched today, so we spoke with one of the officers that was searching. He said they were looking anywhere a "2 wheeled vehicle carrying weight" could go. Not sure how to take that.

I then spent quite a while search the woods near my house.

As to arrest reports from GPD. They are generally available at

P2c.gainesvillepd.org

If you search by name, you can get the reports. I didn't find anything, so I think ASO may be the one that arrested him. ASO does not have reports available on line as far as I know.

Open Campus is the portal that school uses for access to classes, not an ISP

Paynes Prairie is a possibility, but someone new to the area wouldn't know how to get to the prairie except thru the State park which is closed at night, or along I75 or 441 both of which would have a lot of traffic.

Please feel free to ask questions about the area. I have lived here 40 years, was a SFC and UF student.

thank you, Eefive!

Local information is so helpful!

I read that as slightly parsing words--it doesn't say they didn't find anything that would point to his injury, Pedro's guilt, or anything like that, it simply says it doesn't lead them to Christian.

As a lawyer, that parsing makes me hopeful that there is still evidentiary value to the car and its contents.

Always an optimist and thinking towards (sadly) the prosecution's case.

thank you for bringing the specific wording to my attention...

That gives me hope that there may very well be evidence in the car that will prove useful to LE.. Just that it does not lead to the location of Christian!

New article with a little more information. Another roommate thinks PB came back to the home again after stopping back in between 8-10. Also that PB told the roommate his major was biomedical engineering, but he was only taking two classes, at and chemistry.

CA's major was biomedical engineering according to his family. I find that information a little disturbing. Moo

I'm not usually much of a conspiracy theorist and maybe it's the headcold talking, but the taking on of Christian's major along with the line he wrote on the wall, almost sounds like he was trying to "become" Christian.

Praying for this loving family. Praying Chris is found soon. Anywhere around Bravos home where a grave could be hidden ?

Ok, the timing reading about the bug spray they took and just having read an article on bug spray dousing of deceased, how it delays attracting bugs and therefore can make it difficult for entomologists, is just weird.

The cops have the gallon of bug spray- I wonder if there was even more. Aren't some chemicals in bug spray skin preservatives of some sort also?

The gallon of bug spray really caught my attention. I was going to ask about that.

In this article ... http://www.bellinghamherald.com/2012/09/27/2708340/without-a-trace-university-of.html

... I have to wonder if Bravo was scouting out a place to perform his act of maleficence when the vehicle got stuck. Hopefully, the condition of the car, especially the tires, will give LE clues as to where to search for Christian.

  • #474
Any chance the car was used as a weapon?

  • #475
What would you drive over out there that would cause damage to tires?

Tree roots, rocks. I may have missed it- but was it one front, one back tire or
?
One front, one back on the same side usually are the result of curbing the vehicle. Hitting the curb- usually while intoxicated

I think there were a lot of signs of jealousy. Bravo wanted to outdo Christian and fantasized about it. That's what struck me just thinking about the accounts Bravo gave of how he beat up Christian. One article said he gave LE 3 different accounts with increasingly violent details. I can recall 4 versions including beating CA and leaving him in the parking lot; beating CA and leaving him unconscious; and the last 2 involved details about the beating. In one version, Bravo said he punched Christian in the mouth while they were in the car, after which Christian got out, tripped and Bravo proceeded to punch him in the chest. Just my thinking ... the confession was more of a fantasy of how Bravo wanted it to be, after LE had worn him down, insisting that he'd been the last one with Chris.

I'm not a psychologist or psychiatrist, but this is my interpretation of Bravo's "fantasy": 1.) He was tired of hearing about Chris acing a test or about his aspirations in life; Bravo wanted to put a stop to that voice because it reminded him of his own failures. 2.) He portrayed Chris as a klutz and a weakling; he imagined himself lithe and quick in getting to the other side of the car in time to pounce on Chris as he tripped and he imagined himself strong enough to overpower Chris.

IDK, maybe my interpretation is kind of far-fetched, but I would be interested in a psychiatrist's analysis of many of Bravo's statements. What I believe really happened is that Bravo lured Chris to a remote location and either shot Chris or hit him with the shovel or another weapon -- from behind. I really think there was no argument and he caught Christian totally off guard. If Bravo secretly had a gun while he'd convinced everyone he sold all of his guns to pay for school, and used it to shoot Chris, that would mean he premeditated the attack weeks or months in advance.

I do think Pedro wanted to compete with Christian and it frustrated him to no end that he always came up short. They don't call envy the green-eyed monster for nothing. :burn:

I wondered about that at one point, but the "accident" happened 3 days before Christian went missing. Had Bravo tried to run Christian down a few days earlier and, when he failed, convinced Christian it was only an accident? It's heart-wrenching to think Christian would have believed him, forgiven him and said nothing to anyone about it, and then Bravo made another attempt on Christian's life. :shakehead:

~snipped~
Carlos Aguilar said Bravo told police that he bought the shovel and tape to free his SUV after the accident. But Skipper said he saw neither a shovel nor any tape when he helped change the tires.

If this is true, Bravo would have to be near a store (weren't they purchased at a Walmart, or am I thinking of something else?) when his SUV got stuck. Otherwise, he would've needed a ride from someone.

"A few weeks ago, Pedro Andres Bravo asked his roommate a question.

"Do you know anything about the 34th Street wall?"

"I don't. I'm not an artist. But I think if you want to go out there and paint, it's all yours," his roommate told Bravo.

Bravo seemed to understand, and he did go out there. He got "a ton of spray paint," his roommate Erik Skipper said.

Bravo repeated several stenciled drawings of Reptar, a character from the cartoon Rugrats. When he finished, he initialed his work of art P.A.B.

On Thursday night, the art remained — and the man who painted it sat in jail."

Why do you think he would paint a picture of Reptar, of all things he could paint???
