I don't know of abandoned farms or barns nearby. There are a few abandoned businesses near Best Buy.
But a whole lot of forest and swamp area. For example, I am 2-3 miles from Cabana Beach apartments. There are no abandoned farm buildings, but I have 65 acres of heavy trees. Not easy to search because it is so dense. I did search the perimeter for any signs that someone entered the area recently. I am always finding things that people dump from nearby roads, but nothing this time.

Eefive; This quote was on Pedro's whiteboard- can you think of any areas that fit this description?
“Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one’s head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no tomorrow. To forget time, to forgive life, to be at peace.” — Oscar Wilde

I know Florida is rather flat, but if they were friends, and based on some of his quotes, there may have been a since of "caring" (not in the way we think I know). But he may have put/buried him in a place that was "pretty", with a view of sorts. High point, overlooking or near water feature. Part of the strange remorse that goes on with these guys. Anything like that make sense to anyone local?

I'm in S GA, but the area is similar. When I read that- I think of the marsh. Grass over head would mean taller grass, brown earth is what holds the marsh grass...high tide/low tide makes a dramatic difference in what patches of marsh grass are visible in our river.

There are some grass fields near Santa Fe College, but they are very public. The prairie appears grassy, but it is only in a few areas, much of it is swampy and a lot of the surrounding area is fenced to keep the cows and buffalo in. I'll look around.

I wonder what he searched on his computer. We have sinkholes, phosphate pits, etc. but they are not easy to get to if you are not familiar with the area or have someone to show you where they are.

What some call swamp- we call marsh... the river and creeks run through it...

No tides in this area. Most of the lakes are very shallow around the edges. A lot of the docks are out of water because of the low water levels, essentially requiring a boat to get to any depth.

Do they have helicopters searching? Tia

In the beginning they did. I have not heard any recently. At least not in my area which is near Cabana Beach, Best Buy, the prairie and the Farm Bureau.

There are more photos of the vehicle on the GPD face book page.
https://www.facebook.com/GainesvillePolice/photos_stream

These photos were taken in the University of FL's Police Department parking lot. This leads me to believe it was found on the UF campus. I have a hard time believing it was found in UPD's lot. If GPD found it, they would have processed it and towed it to their impound lot.

Yep I agree. Why else would the UF campus police have it?

Is there any chance this was premeditated and the shovel was used
BEFORE the fight?

just milling around ideas.

I played with the lighting. It is pretty obvious in this pic what side got dented 3 days before Christian went missing. Notice the denting on the door up to the window sill in the middle also.

ETA: if you keep clicking on the pic twice more after you open it- it will make it much larger ( at least it does on my computer!)

The damage looks soooo much like my son's SUV after he ditched it diving on an unfamiliar gravel road. He also ruined the two tires on the passenger side.

Ok Locals- where is there a ditch that would be concrete- hence the scrapes on the bottom- and a very hard side running up from it- very hard ground that would cause the dents but not much scraping??? Or a small tree it hit against as it went into a ditch. Maybe a gravel road or a dirt road that hasn't been graded recently... Someone said there is a gravel road in/by one of those parks. He may have gunned it trying to get it out of mud- and overshot- that vehicle looks awfully clean for an 18 yr old's vehicle that he couldn't be bothered to put a matching tire on

And he hit hard enough to loosen up that front bumper too- it is lower than it should be... maybe eefive you should let someone know down there
