Details of Disappearance
Christine was last seen in Coleman, Florida sometime in the second half of 1979 or in 1980. She was in the sixth grade at Wildwood Middle School at the time, and the oldest of six children. She told a friend she was pregnant with twins and planned to run away from home and never come back. Her friend tried to stop her from leaving and said she should tell her mother about the pregnancy. She has never been heard from again.

Prior to her disappearance, Christine's life was extremely troubled. According to her sister, their mother was addicted to drugs. Christine had also been repeatedly sexually abused by her teenage cousin, Robert Jackson Jr., and her uncle.

Robert was stabbed to death at the age of seventeen, in May 1979, after he forced his way into Christine's aunt's home and attacked and beat Christine while she was baby-sitting there. Christine, then eleven years old, said she had stabbed him, but according to her sister, their mother had actually committed the killing. As a result of the stabbing, Christine was placed in a juvenile detention facility for a couple of months. She was released only a day or two before her disappearance.

Many agencies give the date of Christine's disappearance as June 15, 1986, when she was eighteen. Her mother, who died in the early 1990s, never reported her missing. Her father is also dead. Her sister is still alive and anxious to learn what happened to her.

That poor little girl. She must have gotten pregnant from rape.

I so hope she made it out of that awful life and is living happily somewhere. I hope.

The timing seems off. A young girl with a twin pregnancy would be high risk, and the abuse she suffered, would make a miscarriage a high possibility. She was likely safer in JV, which is sad to even think about. Perhaps someone took her for an abortion and it was her demise.

As a result of the stabbing, Christine was placed in a juvenile detention facility for a couple of months. She was released only a day or two before her disappearance.

I have a feeling this poor girl could be the St Louis Jane Doe. Considering she wasn't reported missing, and she meets the height and age requirements...it could be a possibility.

I hope not, but definitely could be. :(

How do you submit a possible match to Namus? I don't have an account so if someone else could do this that would be great.

I can't get over no one reporting her missing and that apparently some reports have her missing at age 11 or 12 in 1979 and some at age 15 in 1983 (according to NamUs) or 18 in 1986.
Poor poor girl.

I am glad she is finally in NamUs.

I could cry! I’m so happy that this little girl is FINALLY being recognized on an official government website.

Maybe he was beating her to force a miscarriage?

“Robert was stabbed to death at the age of seventeen, in May 1979, after he forced his way into Christine's aunt's home and attacked and beat Christine while she was baby-sitting there. Christine, then eleven years old, said she had stabbed him, but according to her sister, their mother had actually committed the killing.”

OR that's just the way he addressed problems?

The child was likely not pregnant, but that was part & parcel of her reporting the rape(s) IMHO.

Anyone ask that the little known about Christine James be compared to the St. Louis remains?

St Louis Jane Doe had not hit puberty in 1983. If Christine was 11 in 1979 she most likely did by 1983.

Surely someone at the detention facility would have noticed a pregnancy?

Pregnant or not, that’s a massive amount of trauma. She’d be extremely vulnerable to so many dangers upon release.

She would be to old, and if she was pregnant at one time wouldn't meet the description of SLJD's private parts.

I know it's a stretch, but could she be Japanese Gardens girl? Its the nose that makes me wonder it's a possibility.
