Family of missing Plant City woman hopes recent arrests could pressure cold case to crack

Jason Roberts, Cieha Taylor’s boyfriend at the time of her disappearance; and his friend, Kevin Ring, were both recently arrested on charges unrelated to her case.

The 28-year-old seemed to have disappeared without leaving a trace of where she had gone or why.

Since February of 2020, the investigation hasn’t progressed much since the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office found Taylor’s abandoned car near a set of Plant City railroads tracks.

Soon though, the Taylor family tells 10 Tampa Bay there’s a chance the cold case could be cracked, thanks to recent arrests of two men investigators say were the last to see her.

Since they are not POIs, officially anyway, we can't sleuth them yet. However, in the video the two men are Jason Roberts who has already been released from his Pasco County arrest. Kevin Ring has 73 felonies on drug and firearms, is held without bond on many of them.

I hope they can use their crimes as leverage to find Ceiha's remains and learn what happened.

At approximately 4 p.m. on February 6, Cieha Taylor, 28, left a residence on Cowart Road in Plant City after dropping off her boyfriend. Taylor’s vehicle was later found abandoned on the railroad tracks at East Trapnell Road, just west of Jap Tucker Road. Taylor has not been seen since.

Taylor's car is a black 2 door Toyota Solara with faded paint. It was parked on the railroad track on Trapnell Rd sometime after 4:00pm on 2/6/20. Deputies located the vehicle on the railroad tracks at 7pm.

I knew someone who was close with Cieha when she disappeared. To give a little backstory: The arrest that Cieha was going to court for was because her bf had drugs in the car with them one day and they got pulled over. She was taking the blame for him because it would have been his 3rd strike, which means serious jail time for him. Around the time she disappeared- this is just a rumor- she may have been pregnant. I'm wondering if she was actually pregnant, and the bf possibly thought that she may not go to jail for him/snitch on him instead. Also, there is another girl- Veronica Reyes who went missing shortly before Cieha with the same exact circumstances. Vehicle was found, running, with her license, keys, phone, and wallet in it from the same area. HCSO thought it was Veronica's husband, but she's still missing as well. Not to mention, I live not too far from the area that these women went missing and there was an alert broadcasted stating that there was a blacked-out crown victoria car that still had the police lights and sirens attached, and was being used to pull women over. Women were told to not stop, go to a police dept/fire station/call 911 and keep going- don't go straight home either- because they believed briefly that's how the women were being abducted. There's around 6 missing women from that same area and that same timeframe that all look similar. None have been found. Plant CIty PD originally had this case, and they're the ones that moved the car off of the tracks then dropped the ball on that part. HCSO took over upon finding out the family is in Dade City, but it took them several weeks to set up a search, and that was mainly the family doing that. Cieha's shoes were found in a drainage ditch literally 2 blocks away from where her car was found. Her shoes were pristine white, and that area is very, very muddy on a regular basis. HCSO tried stating that the shoes were not placed there by anyone, but she may have been running and "run out of her shoes". I take issue with this because 1- the shoes were neatly placed, and still spotless. All white shoes being run through the mud would not be that clean. 2- they were not there at the time of the search- the person I know who told me about Cieha searched that area herself, and definitely would've seen them. They were found 2 weeks later. If she was running through that area, they would be filthy, and not so neatly put there. It looked as if she had taken them off and was putting them on a shoe rack- that type of placement. They were on display.
