FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Fort Lauderdale police are searching for a man who went missing last week while on a paddleboard in the Atlantic Ocean.

Police said Constantine George Theoharis, 52, was last seen Tuesday morning on a blue paddleboard traveling north near the 3000 block of North Atlantic Boulevard.

John Katsikas, Theoharis' uncle, said Theoharis works as a commercial real estate agent and is an accomplished diver.

Katsikas said security video from Theoharis' home showed him heading toward the beach around 7:30 a.m. with the paddleboard and diving equipment. Katsikas said police have not found any of the equipment.

Friends on social media speculated that he might have taken an unplanned trip, but Katsikas said Theoharis left his wallet and passport at home.

Anyone with information about Theoharis is asked to contact Detective Juan Cabrera 954-828-5581.

Weird you wouldn't take your wallet, most people have their driver licenses in their wallet.

Wasn’t there a man found in the ocean in the Fort Lauderdale area over the weekend?

subscribing...

1. Does he have wife and/or kids?
2. Any issues in his personal life?

Looks like a possible sea accident but an accomplished diver would know to never go diving without a partner. This is a fundamental rule in the diving community. Oxygen tanks malfunction, tubing leaks, etc.

This seemed very likely that this could be Constantine but they reported that the UID pulled from the ocean was "fully clothed". That seems odd to me. because if he was paddle boarding or diving, would he be in swim suit/wet suit... not "fully clothed"?

idk

I used to live in a beach town that was popular with surfers and paddleboarders, and no, if they were going out early in the morning and lived within walking distance of the beach, they usually only took their boards with them - no wallet, etc.

A friend of his posted yesterday that it cannot be confirmed for sure that he went paddle boarding. She says he is known to just takeoff to the islands on short notice. South Florida Channel 10 News will be interviewing family for tonight’s broadcast at 11pm.

Found his FB, his friends call him „Con“: https://www.facebook.com/1539883169

Hmm.. that is true.. that’s interesting. I wonder what “fully clothed” specifically means

Ft Lauderdale is a busy area. I travel there often. Going there next week for spring break. I've seen some people wear the long sleeve swim shirts with swim trunks. The water can be rough in that area but he's probably used to it. I hope he's found soon.

But how do you take off to the islands with just a paddle board and dive equipment. Seems like were missing a lot of facts/ information for this to make sense.

According to his facebook, it looks like he does have wife & kids. He looks young for 52yo, so the 40 something UID is not far off.

Unless he went on a trip with a company that does trips to the Bahamas or Florida Keys and something happened? Bahamas is 3 hrs by boat. I can't remember for the Florida keys.

Fort lauderdale to Islamorada (first island of the keys) is about 1.5hrs, so not long in a boat.

I guess it depends on what "the islands" they were talking about.

I live down here, I haven't heard people refer to the keys as "the islands" but guess there's a first time for everything.

He's been missing since March 20th, I would assume if he had a boat that they would have already check on that. The only info is heading out on paddle board and dive equipment.

I think she was referring to Bahamas as she was addressing „Bahamas Friends“.

Many people commenting on FB and searching for him. He seems to have many worried friends.

I don’t take anything with me when I paddle board except a dry bag with my phone and car key.

I had the same idea when I saw this thread. Here's the UID thread: https://www.websleuths.com/forums/s...e-40-s-Fully-Clothed-Floating-in-Sea-Mar-2018

Seems odd that LE would not make the connection. Has anyone called this in as a tip?
