GUILTY FL - Dalina Nicholas for trafficking young daughter, Jacksonville Beach, 2012

Foster care could still mean with the grandmother. Lots of media outlets still refer to family placement as foster care.

Whether they left her at the home with the grandmother or not, I just can't believe they ever placed her there in the first place. Even in child rape cases where the child was attacked through no fault of the parents, LE usually doesn't want the parents or guardians talking to the child about the assault. If the child wants to talk, that's one thing, but they usually recommend very heavily against the parent/guardian being the one to bring it up with the child. Just because a parent doesn't have the training to talk it over with the kid and not interject their own feelings or recollections. The grandmother was obviously talking about this with the little girl, if not the assault itself,at least talking about her mother and the things that were going on with her mother...

I just can't understand the reasoning of trying to keep a family together under these circumstances. That's just me, I guess.

I bet there will be more arrests, or at least the potential for more arrests. If you are capable of selling your child to one person for sex, you're capable of selling your child over and over to a whole lot of people for sex. JMO.

Ugh!!

First of all, Grandma, these drug dealers would not have taken over your daughters home if she didn't allow them to. She continued to give them access to your 6-year-old granddaughter in exchange for drugs. She prostituted your granddaughter!! Sold her for drugs!! Willingly!! Knowingly!! For two years!! Without your daughter's consent, these drug dealers would have had no access to her and they would have went on their way. No money (or child for sex) means no drugs. Your daughter chose the drugs! And why didn't she just sell herself??

Those children should NOT be with the grandmother! No way!! Your daughter is not a victim!! She is a sadistic co-conspirator of a child-for-sex scheme!

Jan 2013:

A Jacksonville Beach mother who repeatedly allowed her 6-year-old daughter to be sexually abused for drugs and money has pleaded guilty to four counts of child neglect...

Her attorney Gonzalo Andux said his client didn’t understand that her daughter was being sexually assaulted because of her drug and mental health issues.

“She’s very remorseful about what happened,” Andux said.

October 2013 - Sentenced to 30 years.

Her oldest daughter, Holly, read from a statement saying she struggles now knowing her mother will not be able to be present in her life for some time...

"It was my fault. I was careles. I didn't know who I was letting in my house," she told the court through tears. "I'll never forgive myself."
Nicholas went on to say that during the time the crimes were committed, she was using crack-cocaine 24/7...

The 6-year-old girl and her brother, who lived with them at the Jacksonville Beach home where Nicholas would bring the strange men, have since been adopted by a family and are together.
