Seems to me the porn search is a bit of a red herring. Just because it was included in the discovery provided to the defense (which was the document dump that the Democrat reported on) doesn't mean that the prosecutors plan to refer to it at trial. And even if WA (as opposed to someone else using her computer) did that search, what possible relevance is there to DM's murder?

And I agree with Russian Blue that the As are certainly fully lawyered-up, and probably have been for some time.

I'd say a porn search, especially one that involves child porn, is pretty significant whether or not it relates directly to Dan's murder. At the least, it could reveal something unsavory about the character of someone in the family. Or, the search could have been done by WA's beau at the time (the beautiful man who cried in her arms?). Just speculating.

I wouldn't assume it's a child porn search. Whatever WA (or whoever was using the computer/phone) was searching for, it could very well have been a search for a particular theme featuring adults. Still may or may not be relevant. More likely the search history was just part of the required discovery production, as one other poster mentioned. But you're definitely right that it reveals or at least suggests something about this group that many people would consider unsavory. Open question whether LE intends to try to incorporate that into the narrative at trial or in the media going forward. IMHO.

The just released documents also shed new light on Wendi Adelson's behavior before and after her ex-husband's murder.

Three days after Markel was killed, a judge signed a search warrant for information on Wendi Adelson’s phone and investigators began searching her Web browser and email records.

On her computer, investigators found Google Chrome keyword searches for Markel’s girlfriend Amy Adler, Adler's ex-husband and Adler's brother. They also found that Wendi Adelson had searched several porn sites for “teacher/student porn.”

Went out with brother, CA, for dinner to celebrate.
Threw up on table during that dinner.
Googled Dan's g.f, her brother, and ex-husband.
Searched several teacher-student porn sites.

Why was WA (or whoever was using her computer) googling this woman and her family members? Was she concerned that the new girlfriend had a family base in New York, and would therefore would want to bring Dan to New York and make things more complicated for their custody arrangement? On the other hand, if Dan moved to New York then WA would probably have been free to leave Tallahassee. IMHO.

I most definitely think that she was very concerned about the prospect of Dan moving to NY and then having to share the kids long distance. Plus the kids would have a "new mother", another beautiful and well educated woman.

I agree that it likely has nothing to do with the murder. Just kinda sheds a different light on a person when you find out about their unsavory sexual fetishes......wonder if her mom knew about that. I'd be quite embarrassed if my mom found out I was googling that. Especially if my mom had me on a pedestal like WA's mom seems to.

Rivera had a hearing in court this morning. Sounds like it was pretty uneventful; the judge set his trial date for Nov. 14, along with Garcia. Rivera's attorney's comments are interesting. Reading between the lines, I take his words about "an unusual case...a very unique case" to refer to a murder-for-hire scenario. And "a lot of things going on right now and a lot of things I am not at liberty to discuss" could very well refer to plea discussions that would include a promise to testify against whoever hired his client.

"It's an unusual case ... this is the type of case ... the facts we don't really see in this community that often. So I'll just say it's a very unique case," Rivera's attorney Chuck Collins said after the Monday morning court hearing.

Collins would not comment on the evidence or the allegations against Rivera.

"I'm not going to comment on the evidence. We've got a trial in just three months right across the street, so there's a lot of things going on right now and a lot of things I am not at liberty to discuss," Collins said.

Re: WA's Google searches, not really incriminating. So she watched some teacher/student porn? The genre's out there because people dig it. Googling her ex's new gf? Me, her, and every other woman in America.

I suspect that the reason we are being told simultaneously that WA was searching for info on Dan's girlfriend AND that she was searching teacher/student porn is because WA was planning/considering distributing a pornographic likeness (the closest she could find) of Dan's unwitting girlfriend -claiming that it was her - to embarrass, humiliate and hurt Dan and his girlfriend and/or perhaps cast a negative light on her as a possible future stepmother. -- My opinion only --

Interesting thought...I think you are on to something. There had to be a good reason for WA to search this porn site. I don't really think it was for her enjoyment, but for a more nefarious purpose.

I think it was for her enjoyment. Or, I think she was seeing a man who enjoyed it, and they were watching it together. I don't think the porn has anything to do with the case and we shouldn't read to much into it. The article probably included it because it's interesting and juicy, and journalists like to include those bits.

I didn't realize she is a teacher, but that would make sense! If it was something WA was interested in for herself, wouldn't she have searched for student-professor porn? I think you are correct! I think she is devious and conniving -- going to any extent to get her way. MOO
