Missed this mornings testimony. Sorry to ask, but was it ever established and proven that there was cell phone contact between Garcia and CA?
No. The State brought out that the texts btwn KM and CA about Garcia directly contacting CA were just jokes that CA was making to KM -- that CA seemed to be kidding about it. JMO.

i explained this already. their only objective is to get KM and SG a not-guilty verdict. a not-guilty verdict directly helps CA. these defense attorneys could even call CA "Satan" and even say that he actually pulled the trigger himself if it helps convince the jury of their alternate theory and it would have no bearing on CA's potential future trial. it's not admissible and it would/will be an entirely different trial and jury. i'm sure CA and his attorney are fine with this alternate theory as long as it gets these alleged co-conspirators off - because in effect it gets CA off as well. KM, SG, CA all have the same objective here - get KM and SG a not-guilty verdict - even if it means sullying CA's name in THIS trial.
Testimony in this trial other than WAs WOULD be admissible in future proceedings

KM and SG share children. Maybe they've been promised a cushy life for their children.
They just don't strike me as the self-sacrificing, altruistic type.

I think WA's testimony would be admissible in future proceedings against any defendant except her. JMO.

Did anyone catch exactly what Velazquez-Mascaro (sp?) started to say when asked why KM kicked Garcia out? This is what I can make out, which makes no sense "it was a small choice relationship"

ETA: Ohhhhh nvm I think I just figured out what she was saying "it was a tumultuous relationship"

I think they argued a lot. The wiretapping evidence even described them as arguing over the phone. It was in the CA probable cause affidavit.

Wow, a day of cell phone records and financial spreadsheets. I hope the jury had their coffee!

Feeling badly for the Markel family sitting in the court.
Wondering if any Wsers are there too?

Thank you!

This is just my opinion, and I know others will disagree, but I feel like Magbanua should also be facing the same punishment as SG. She’s just as culpable of this horrible crime. I hope she is convicted and is put away for a very long time. She’s a horrible person to have arranged a murder, and the fact that she is staying tight lipped and appears to not have any remorse — lock her up and throw away the key.

It must be hard to hear how their only son was so easily executed by all these thugs. Difficult to hear how these individuals spent money, paid for their sons death by his ex inlaws, on cars and motorcycles, breast implants, trips.etc etc. It disgusts me. DM was an upstanding citizen that had so much to offer........SMH.:(

I don’t disagree. I am on the fence about the death penalty in general but I agree with your assessment of her and I feel like she (with CA’s prodding) pushed SG to do it - edited to add pushed very hard!

I really really disliked Wendy Adelson on the stand. She comes across as extremely selfish, manipulative, condescending, plays innocent doe eyed girl to get away with being a conniving you know what. Also spoiled rotten. Clearly, the Adelson family is not that different from a mafia family. I'd hate to cross them. These 3 are the low hanging fruit in this case imo. To think that the Adelson family is going to get away with this is sickening.

Doe-eyed! Yes! That's the phrase I've been looking for.

The defense has yet to submit any new testimony/evidence that could be damaging to CA in a future trial (that the state has not already presented). The defense posited a theory and some questions about his involvement, but that's not testimony/evidence. I'll be shocked if they ever do.

I think we'll be waiting for the wiretap testimony until next week and there's no way the state is going to be done by mid-day Monday.

When I watched her on the witness stand, I kept thinking of the Stepford Wives movie I watched long ago. The way she tilt her head and had that "deer in the headlights look". I wouldn't have been suprised if her head did a 360 while sparks flew in the courtroom.

In earlier testimony by one of CA's ex gfs, she said that he always slept with a gun.
Is that normal behavior in places where gun ownership is considered, imo, widespread?
If he also kept it with him whilst, er- entertaining the ladies, would that not only be a huge turn-off, but also dangerous if it accidentally/ prematurely went off?
"Son of a gun" comes to mind.....
speculation.imo.
