I believe this may be a Jane Doe found in TN in the basement of James Shaffer. Jane Doe is 5'7, body found in basement on 11/17/1987, African American, previous injury: broken nose, gold overlay on an upper right tooth, 20-40 years old.

Her body was found in the basement of a Nashville, TN home on
November 17th, 1987, she has remained unidentified.

She is an African American female believed to be between 20 and 40 years old. She was around 5' 7" tall with black hair. She suffered from a broken nose at some point during her life, and she had a gold overlay on an upper right tooth.

When she was found, her nails were painted pink, she was dressed in blue or black gym shorts and a white short-sleeved shirt, and she had a grim reaper ring on her finger.

According to Namus, she may have been deceased as early as 1984.

She was a victim of a sick man by the name of James Shaffer. He admitted to ending her life in a brutal way. He said he picked her up on July 4th, 1985, in the area of 12th Ave. N. and Jefferson St. in Nashville. He told Detectives that her last name might have been May or Johnson, and that he knew her as Lil Bit.

Jane Doe was one of two victims recovered from the basement of a home James Shaffer rented at 3509 Charlotte Pike. The other victim was identified as Sheila Cummings, 23, of Elgin, Illinois.

I feel as if it is important to say that James Shaffer provided the other victim's name as Sheila Cummings, but for years, her name was thought to have been an alias.

It is time for Lil Bit to have her name back.

Keep in mind that she may or may not have been from Nashville. We are looking for any missing women with a gold overlay who disappeared after 1984 and before 1987.
