FL - Delray Beach, Hisp/WhtFem, ‘Betzabe’ top, found in 3 suitcases in intracoastal waterway, Jul 2023 - Aydil Barbosa Fontes (80) *husband arrest*

I live in the area, and the story has been in our local news since the discovery of the suitcases. I've noticed a lot of new Brazilian residents and visitors here recently, along with Brazilian grocery stores and restaurants. I hope someone knows who this is and calls LE. Like others, I suspect domestic violence, but anything is possible. I think it was an impulsive crime with little planning, hence the reuse of identifiable suitcases, and disposal in a busy waterway.

Alternately, the crime could have taken place in a hotel, and she could have been a hotel guest and a victim of random violence. There's a lot of crime here, and tourists from overseas may not always realize which hotels have criminal activity.

Any chance it's Runy Medina Pacheco?

IMO they have a passing resemblance but the hair color is pretty different (I zoomed in and I think Runy's color is natural?), and Runy would have had to be alive for ~6 months prior to being killed, or kept in a temp controlled environment. When the police say someone is in "early decomp", I view that as discoloration, skin slippage, etc, but no bloating or gross disfigurement yet, which would limit to under 1-2 weeks.
Hopefully we will get more information on a PMI soon!

Apologies if this is too long….

I’m probably over thinking this, but I recently found out that an old friend of mine, who’s been overseas, hasn’t been heard from in months. When I saw this reconstruction it made my heart stop. The eyes/eyebrows, nose (particularly the bridge of the nose between the eyes), lips and even the hair are pretty close.

But there are some differences and logical things keeping me from putting too much stock into it: the shape of the lower cheeks, and the composite looks a little older than my friend, who’s also taller than 5’4”. But the biggest difference is that Jane Doe (as far as we know) didn’t have any tattoos, and my friend does. Heaps of them. She was also last known to be pretty far away from Florida, but her lifestyle did have her travelling a lot.

Logically I don’t think it’s her, but until we know who she is, that thought will probably linger.

I hope her name is found, and there is justice for this woman very soon.

Does not hurt to call it in. At least authorities will be on the look for her.

.....the police surely know about Betzabe Pujaico Designs based out of Miami Beach, right?

I immediately noticed them, so I presume LE did as well. It seems to me that Betzabe Puhaico Designs is a custom gown designer. At least those were the only images I saw in their gallery and FB page.

I scrolled through her entire Instagram, they do do casual clothes as well.

The label reads "Betzabe Confecções" and has a number on it, the CNPJ, which is the legal entity identification number in Brazil. The CNPJ can be searched here: CNPJ Consulta

I don't think "Betzabe Confecções" and "Betzabe Pujaico" are related. The owners have different names and the labels are different too. But of course, I can be wrong. MOO JMO

Thanks for clarifying this.

Only popping in to say I cannot believe we haven't heard anything more. I truly thought we would have a name by now. :(

I've dug the whole internet, both in English and Portuguese and couldn't find an "online presence" for Betzabe Confecções except for this YouTube channel.
It seems to be a very, very, very small business, with little followers on YT, no FB, no IG, no online store, no nothing. This almost makes the "floral top" easily traceable.
Of course, the top could have belonged to someone else but, being custom-made and fairly recent, our JD most likely bought the top herself or someone close to her ... maybe even her killer. MOO JMO

Praying she gets her name back soon.

So it was domestic.

And wow, she was older than I expected, based on the recon. I wonder if someone recognised the recon, or the suitcases.

Sleep well, Adyil. I'm sad for your violent end, but I'm happy that there's not going to be a tomb reading 'unknown' for you.

Oh man, amateur hour, he didn't even remove the labels from their travel. He might as well have left their passports in the cases with her.

And he was going back to check on the cases on a several times a day basis. People spoke to him, other people saw him and noted the make of his car. He was trying to get the cases to drift out further but failing.

Oh heck I just go up to the bit about his apartment. This guy may have succeeded in killing his wife, but he certainly in no way succeeded in concealing it. What an unholy, ugly, brutal mess of a crime. Congrats, dude, you're going to die in prison.

Am I reading this right, is the sister MIA? Has anyone seen this woman recently? Sounds like the neighbour hasn't seen her for years.

Him leaving flowers for the neighbour is really sinister in context with everything else. He did that at least once while dismembering and disposing of his wife, and attempting to clean the scene.

Also, the way it was worded, "detectives observed" about the blood absolutely everywhere. No mention of any kind of reagent like Bluestar. That place was covered in visible blood staining, spattering, pooling, drag marks, and residue in the drains. He left a blood trail from one apartment up to the other, which the other residents and the custodian mistook for 'soup' and cleaned up. They talk about lots of cleaning supplies in both apartments, but did he ever actually clean anything? Or did he just spend his days looking out into the waterway, trying to work out how to make the cases float away or sink to the bottom? He didn't even wash off the tissue and blood and hair from the chainsaw in the storage unit.
