Where did she disappear from? Home? School? Who saw her last? Not much here! Her SM is kinda worrisome.

Ummm..... why???? She's 14, did she finish school early? have a disability that prevented her from learning?

She was not regularly attending school and there is no indication she is a runaway.

There is a park and bridge by the river. Is she attracted to water for a particular reason?

“This area that we’re searching [Tuesday] was the last known whereabouts that Appling was, coupled with the last known place she used her cell phone is from this area where we’re standing back toward the Suwannee River,” said Dixie County Sheriff Darby Butler.

No kidding. Those posts are not going to attract the kind of adult mentors and friends she needs. Something is seriously wrong here. Shocking that there’s no public outcry from family.

Because LE is saying Demiah did not “regularly” attend school, I’m assuming she was either not enrolled or that she was often truant. And since she wasn’t reported missing for a week, perhaps her guardians were more, uhm…carefree in their supervision of Demiah.
Authorities say Demiah’s family is cooperating with information, which is good to know.

CROSS CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - Residents of a Dixie County town are going from light post to light post, handing out fliers with the information of a teen missing for over two weeks.

14-year old Demiah Appling was last seen near the Church of God in Old Town, that’s located at 72 SE 918th Street. Dixie County deputies searched the area and east towards the Suwannee river Tuesday morning into the afternoon.

Jennifer Roberts also lives in the town. She first saw that Appling was missing around a week ago, since then she went to a local print shop and got 1,000 fliers printed. She is taking those hand-outs, with Appling’s missing person’s report and picture on them to areas across Dixie, Gilchrist, and Levy Counties.

“I just feel like Demiah deserves for someone to be a voice for her right now. I’m a mom of four and I would hope that people would come together and be a voice for my children if something like this would happen,” said Roberts.

She and a group of around ten took to the tri-county area Tuesday night. The met up in a parking lot of the Save-a-lot in Cross City. Roberts ended up finishing around 9 p.m. She hopes the teen is found safe.

“She is a child of god, she is of value, she is worth fighting for and getting to the bottom of this situation,” said Roberts.

There is very little information available regarding her last known sighting as well as her current situation. Has there been a change in her behavior recently? Any communication with new friends or love interests? Could she have been suicidal? Did she know her boyfriend was trying to see someone else? Does she have a friend/s who may know any of the above?

It appears that Demiah had just recently dropped out of school, was hanging around kids who had also dropped out and had become "uncontrollable". It appears her grandmother had custody of her since she was 3-years-old.

This must be devastating for the family .

Such a beautiful girl. If she is voluntarily missing, I hope she is safe and decides to get in contact with her family. This is every family's nightmare.

That SM is heartbreaking... 14?! I hope she's located, and that she can learn to love herself. Poor baby. :(

Glad to see this step has been taken. I'm hoping Demiah will located soon and safe. My heart goes out to her grandparents because I know they are concerned for her. Fourteen is a hard age. Kids feel grown, and want to be grown, but they are still so very young.
