I just finished reading through this thread from beginning to end...have never heard of this child until WebSleuths! Rarely have I been this angry in my life as I finished looking at all the posts...NO retribution for anyone????? Whiskey tango foxtrot! How awful! Words can't even express how I feel right now, especially as I feel that I've read so many carbon copies of this case. Following Relisha Rudd & Myra Lewis I am afraid that their cases may end up like this My only comfort is that God WILL punish these parents, whether in this world or the next.

Almost all the cases we read about here are horrible, but the ones about infants and old people really get to me. Excuse my language but WTF could a 5 month old do to make someone do this to him? Dontrell was an innocent baby. 5 months is not even a chance.

No real baby experience here, but my friend has a 7 month old and seriously, this baby's ENTIRE role in life right now is to soak up the love and adoration of absolutely everyone she encounters. Because she is an innocent baby. She is (and deserves to be!) the center of attention in any room she enters. Because she is an innocent baby. She comes to our work get-togethers and grown men with doctoral degrees are reduced to babbling and making funny faces. Because she is an innocent baby. We buy her silly clothes to wear so we can gush over how cute she is in them. Because she is an innocent baby. I smile whenever I see her photos. Because she is an innocent baby. This is biological. Babies are supposed to be cherished because they cannot care for themselves. It takes a special kind of monster to hurt an innocent baby.

Dontrell, you are free. You were an innocent baby and deserved a chance to grow up. I am so, so sorry that you weren't lucky enough to be adored and cared for by absolutely everyone around you. Please know that there are lots and lots of people who would have held you close and kept you safe and gushed over how cute you looked in silly outfits, just because you're YOU: Dontrell Melvin, and you are wonderful.
