Found Deceased FL - Enrique Cortez-Duban, 6, Panama City Beach, 5 July 2021

I see at the link above that the police contacted the coast guard at 2:49, but not sure when the police were called.

This article says PCPD were called about 30 minutes after he went missing:

“We have about a 30-minute window from when they found out that he was missing, and then notified the police department. Which as busy as it is on the beach it is really not abnormal from our experience. However, you have to understand the beach is extremely, extremely packed. So they wanted to try to locate that child themselves before they notify law enforcement officers. Once they notified us. It was all hands on deck at that moment,” said Panama City Beach Police Chief Eusebio Talamantez.

Pray for this sweet child and the folks that are searching for him. The weather has been nasty today with heavy rain and lightning.

His family must be devastated right now, knowing the odds that he’ll be found alive are slim. Truly a parent’s nightmare.

Speculation: Was he playing at the beach, maybe in and out of the water, not far from family?

It's truly scary that surrounded by people, no one saw what happened. Of course that happens, but it's so sad.

AFAIK we can point people to it but can't discuss the contents here - but I could be wrong (again).

Facebook Groups
I thought the group FB had to be setup by a family member to bring here. I could very well be wrong as well.

My heart is broken for this family. My kids are 16 and 18 and I was still a paranoid mess when they were only out waist deep in the water of the ocean a couple months ago when we went to NC. I pray they are surrounded with love and can someday find peace.

I watched the P.C. Police Chief make comments about this and he said the cooperation between all the agencies was an exemplary lesson in working together. He also left a pointed message to anyone who asked him about where the parents were to remember that this happened right in front of hundreds of other people and none of them saw anything because it happened so fast, and was just a tragic, tragic accident.

Enrique was found on the sand near Surf Drive:

This is so heartbreaking. Panama City is a couple hours from me so my feed has been full of shares on FB. Also, speaking of how bad the rip currents are, there was an article a couple days ago about a family who didn't know that double red flags means no swimming and the man lost his wife/mother to his kids even though she was a strong swimmer. I wish hotels/condos would provide info on flag meanings and how to spot rip currents and what to do if you end up in one. Of course, for a child this may not matter, but could assist parents.
I get the beach update from friends there, yesterday was a single red flag day.

Make it part of the hotel/condo package or attach a color flag chart to the receipt. Incorporate it into a coloring book for the kids?
RIP little Richalo.

His poor family. This is so tragic. Most drownings are preventable by just keeping an eye on your kid 100%. With that said, i can see how these things happen. It’s so easy to get distracted and to assume someone else sees your kids.

Life vests, ours (GK) don't go near the water without them. At three he must have been in the water up to his ankles and wondered further. It literally just takes minutes :(
My thoughts and prayers are with his parents and loved ones, I'm heartbroken for them.
