FL - Family dog braves flames, leads firefighters to kids trapped in house

If it weren’t for a brave German shepherd, two young children may not have been rescued in time from a Florida house fire Monday night.

Firefighters had just smashed open the door and rescued a man just inside, but the children were in a different room, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dennis Lemma told WFTV.

“The family’s canine that was in the house, led firefighters to the two children who were inside,” he said.

All four of the home’s occupants were successfully rescued, Lemma said.
