The police say the bones found are from a petite woman. They also found clothing and a backpack with cosmetics nearby.

Human bones found behind a Fort Myers RaceTrac belong to a small woman
Rediculous that AP automatically assumes that she died from an over dose back in the woods with her backpack that has cosmetics in it. smh.
It could be a homeless person who died but it could be more nefarious and she could be a victim of some terrible crime back there. Like the detective said "She's a sister, she's a girlfriend, she's a daughter. Somebody has some kind of information," said Bushong.
Sad

I see some resemblance in Dorothy Downey but it really doesn't make any sense for her to show up in Florida. All her personal belongings were at her residence. Also I'm not sure what the definition of "petite" includes in the US.

I found someone else and this time it would make sense. Doris Wade Carter went missing with her girlfriend from Plant City, Fl. One of the girlfriends legs was later washed ashore in St. Petersburg

Both the UP & MP have this sort of raised lip on the right side. I also think the noses fit perfectly.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Not sure because it is not communicated clearly. Probably because the person was skeletonized the sex was determinded by the bone shape alone and that falls within a big grey area.

She was tentatively identified in March 2020. Samantha Steinberg posted about it on FB, but it's been deleted.
I remember reading Samantha's post too. But now I can not find it, I believe it has been deleted. It was a side by side comparison of the photo of this woman and a reconstruction. They looked almost identical.

It was deleted, probably because the family didn't want the photo. I guess that may have been what happened.
I also remember it was said that she had been released from the local jail located at the same area as the gas station, so I don’t think she is any of the above mentioned women. Yes, I agree may be it was upon relatives request.

Wowzers! So it is tentatively confirmed it is her? Rest in peace, Donna! Looks like you had a turbulent life, I hope you are at peace now.

Since this NamUs is still active and there is no information about her being identified -- ID withheld or not -- I sent in Donna Chatterton for comparison. Donna lived a very short distance (2.5 miles) from the gas station behind which this UID was found. I still can't get over the resemblance between her ID photo and the reconstruction. I also asked about the tentative ID of the woman who had been jailed, whether that's still a probability or not. I'll keep you all posted if I hear anything back from NamUs.
