It would definitely be hard to keep a Paleo/Mediteranean diet in jail. She’s the kind of woman who lived the South Beach Diet life.

In my opinion, just based on what I recall from her arrest documents regarding her weight, which seemed unusually low to me, she may just have been restricting calories in general. Based on what I’ve heard in the piece Wendi wrote for the writing podcast with the comments about how her mom “thinks she has fat,” I think it’s possible she may have had some disordered eating.

Hope someone can answer this question: Is DA's son, Charlie able to watch the same hearing (exhaustive complaint session) that has been on Youtube and many television channels? I am thinking because she was so open about her perceived issues and hardships, perhaps there was another message being sent. (I was embarrassed for her, but it didn't seem to bother her in the least.) I got the same "too much information/yuck feeling" when CA spoke about his mother having diarrhea all night and unable to sleep in a conversation with KM. Maybe she wants CA to feel sorry for her plight and stick to the scenario of, "My mother knows nothing and she simply did what I told her to do."
DA seemed to know how to manipulate him and get him to do her bidding. However, someone else (a new attorney who has no loyalties to Donna!) is now giving him legal advice. Wake up Charlie...you're the fall guy! I'm sure "The Fam" has decided it should all end with you and there is no need for the rest of them to be prosecuted. I can't believe no one came to his trial...not even his parents. By now he knows his sister didn't even ask about his well being. There is an obvious widening schism of loyalties occurring. The "One for all, and all for Wendi" defensive line seems to finally be faltering. CA, they just voted you off. "You are the weakest link. Good-bye."

I agree. Incredible how WA even would say that publicly about her mother huh? I know many wealthy women (and that’s just my own observation) stay extremely thin and in shape. Because you never know when someone is going to snatch your rich Hubbie lol.

Well Donna failed miserable during those wire calls if that was the case. I think she would stand some chance of jury support if we didn’t have those calls (and her emails). She didn’t teach her daughter to be discreet thats for sure.

DA team filed a motion today to have KM brought to Leon County Courthouse on April 3 for a deposition.

Deposition was to have taken place remotely over Zoom from Lowell Correctional but it sounds like Department of Corrections won't allow a court reporter to come onsite with some equipment. Depositions over Zoom for prisoners seems to be a standard practice so I'm not sure what is going on here.

Is it allowable to have money sent "for the inmate's benefit" in perpetuity? Hmmm, just thinking an inmate who is used to lavish living, doesn't have a lot of sway in lock up. Suddenly a mere $40 a week in canteen currency can elevate the inmates existence, alliances and security. Any CO's or folks who know how that works???

I think it depends upon the facility, but I think anyone can put money on their accounts.

Yes. LCJ uses JPay which allows anyone to deposit funds to a given inmate. I can't tell if there is a recurring payment option but JPay does have DA listed as a recipient. JPay does want to know the relationship between the contributor and the inmate but "Friend" is one of the options.

It’s not canteen food, it’s junky packaged chips and snacks. No protein.
So theres commissary for canteen at the jail/prison ,and then there’s Icare. DA mentioned something about 40.00/wk I think. Maybe thats the limit? I’ll check on the jail website. Don’t see a limit for Jpay.

I am surprised they don't have protein shakes. I’d probably live on that and skip the rest of the food if they had that.

That excuse was ridiculous, in my opinion. First, it seems to me she’s saying they just chose Vietnam because it was a peaceful place they liked; but then, if I recall correctly, she says they chose it because it had no extradition. To me, these statements seem contradictory. And, as you say, if you hypothetically didn’t want to be arrested and put in jail in a foreign country, why leave the country at all? To me, even believing you might be put in a foreign jail shows some consciousness of guilt. Also, if the country has extradition, hypothetically, wouldn’t they just extradite you? I imagine they might have to hold you for a short period to initiate the extradition proceedings, but I don’t imagine it would be for a very long time. In my understanding, the only reason one might hypothetically remain in a foreign jail for a very long time is if one chose to fight extradition.

Bingo! She was never planning to volitionally return. You wouldn't choose a non-extradition country to do that. And like someone else just mentioned- if it was privacy they wanted, they could have chosen Hawaii.

I'm trying to get inside the head of a 75 year old facing LWOP, which is obviously impossible to do. Would 10 years give her hope? Even someone facing 20-30 years would have hope they'd be released some day, but I would imagine it would be pretty grim waking up every day knowing you will never get out.

For me I'd take 10 years. But I'm not 75.

Right. 8.5 (10 minus 1.5 served so far) years would provide a glimmer of hope with the additional very remote possibility that she could be released sooner if any of her remaining friends started campaigning the FL governor to consider clemency for a prisoner in her 80s. In a prison, she could take care of herself better health-wise physically and mentally, with exercise, outdoor time, and a regular schedule with a job and classes.

Eggs used to be cheap-I do wonder why breakfast is all carbs most days. It’s as if they purposely want you to crash and burn afterwards. Not a good way to start the day. Yes, stress and cortisol. Not good.

It doesn't actually look that bad. I spent 4 years at university subsisting on rice,noodles and beer haha
