WTH Jackie, you have been testifying every time you crossed a witness! She states she can't testify to the forensic accounting witness.
JF is a strange bird. I tried to research her and saw that she was once a judge and removed from the bench. And a disability??? what disability?? Both on the defense seem disorganized and 'slow' as do they know what they are doing??

She most likely lied to Sigfredo about how much they got for the job so she can't admit to it now on national TV

ETA: Luis said he got 35k and Sigfredo got 40k so Katie got the rest
So they did not know ahead of time how much they were getting for the job??

JL to me sounds like a jilted lover. Not to say things didn't make sense to him in hindsight but he strikes me as having an agenda also. Also when renting a car can you request a certain color, make and model?? These thugs don't seem that organized.

I think I would absolutely have an agenda after finding out my girlfriend had been cheating on me with multiple men, arranged hitmen to murder her ex and then set me up for said murder. So I think JL can be forgiven for being a touch bitter!

Wendi melt down around the time of the murder? JL testified that a few days before the murder Wendi told him that Charlie looked into hiring a hit man the previous summer. The morning of the murder Wendi tells the tv repair guy the hit man "joke", and later proceeds to drive by Trescott. Then she tells Isom that Charlie and her parents might have a motive to have Dan killed. If she thinks her family could be involved, wouldn't LE think she was too? I mean Really? Does she live in an imaginary bubble where people think that a family would kill the ex-husband of a grown-up lawyer because the ex-husband "wasn't treating her well" -- without checking with her first? Did she totally panic and lose the plot when Isom showed up at her lunch? JMO.
Book smart, no common sense. Remember she grew up in an alternative reality.

I watched Rob 5 times because I have never seen a more broken man. You can’t fake that.
This has to be an embarrassing ordeal for him.

I don't think JL was the fall guy. WA was simply trying to introduce another potential suspect to muddy the waters. Murder trials are problematic for the person on trial when they are the only potential suspect hence the reason Fulford is pointing the finger at WA. Not because she or her client want WA to go to prison, simply to show the jury that sure Donna might have done it, but so could have Wendi?

Why did WA tell JL about CA hiring a hitman? A question many of us have puzzled over. "Who in their right mind would tell someone about a murder plot they were involved in?"

The emphasis is on "right mind." WA was on a number of prescription drugs at the time, including anti-psychotic medication. These were prescribed by HA who is a dentist not a psychiatrist. Plus she was drinking heavily. JL confirmed their date did not go ahead because she was intoxicated due to alcohol and "other stuff." She was probably under a massive amount of stress, due in court, potential loss of law license as well as close to $300k, another loss to Dan and she had a murder to plan...

So suffice to say this was not a person who had right of mind... maybe she told JL because in her disorded stated she believed he'd transfer from meek-mild mannered professor to gun for hire and go kill Dan for her...

Whoa, how did I miss this????? Do tell..

The first time thugs rented a car they did rent a car like his. The second time it was a prius per testimony yesterday. Probably some of it was a jilted lover but I think he makes some points. Both times thugs went to DanM's home, WA was very curious when he would be in town and when he was leaving.
WA also wanted to know Dan's schedule the morning of the murders. When he would be at the club and when would he go home. WA was tracking Dan's movements for the thugs. IMO

My point being, it's something that could be argued, even if the argument is banal and non-sensical juxtaposed with more robust evidence such as a text stating "hey lets kill Dan Markel."

It's still relevant, but this case is circumstantial and is dependant on 40/50+ pieces of small circumstantial evidence that on their own are almost meaningless. So arresting them all back in 2016 would have resulted in acquittals as the cases were not strong then. They have become stronger in time as more and more "inconsequential" evidence surfaces.
I'll reference the Rhoden murders in Ohio 2016. That case would have never gotten to the point it is without the confession of first Jake Wagner and then his mother Angela. Jake solved many issues not known or confirmed that explained what happened. It is still ongoing with the one remaining - Jake's father - still to be tried. The years this has taken to complete the convictions just had a monkey wrench thrown at it with the unexplainable interference of a judge. Time gone by is not helpful to give justice to the victim/s.

Let's get this one done!

Wendi put herself in protected custody...far far away.....maybe in Vietnam. :)
Really, minus a grand jury already in progress, what is to stop her from bolting????? Do we think she is under surveillance?? I forgot where she lives now??????? Wonder what her boys think???

I think the defense is doing horrible job. Like they just don't care (maybe they dont). No reason to the questions they are asking. And JF's tone of voice not helping her client. IMO

Have to say, I LOVE this prosecution, including the judge. All of them so professional, and love their experts. Such a welcomed change from the Karen Read trial.

I think Donna has accepted that she will be in prison for the rest of her life. She is too calm. Maybe she is on a prescription. JMO.
In a very twisted way, she may be enjoying the opportunity to relive her conquests in this saga. Like a killer returning to the scene. Guarantee she is still manipulating new 'sources' inside the prison to feed her insanity.

On a happier note, has the IRS been called in?? Where in the world would they start investigating?? HA will be penniless when this is over?? He is retired, right??

I used to think he wasn't used as a fall guy, either. With each testimony, I have changed my mind. I don't necessarily think he was being framed by WA, but I think he was kind of a used as a scapegoat. Someone for LE to focus on other than her or her family. She gave him enough information to hate DM, and see how awful he was making her life. In WA LE interview, WA mentions someone murdering DM for her benefit. I don't remember her exact wording, but she seems to implicate that as the reason for someone wanting to shoot DM. She knew LE would look at her, and someone close to her. Someone that would want to help her out, but not her family, of course. JMO

Some of these phone calls and surveillance videos are hard to understand….but that video of Charlie and Harvey was really rough! Just looking at a bunch of dots and couldn’t make anything out and no transcript.

This was the only time Harvey has looked up throughout this trial.

Were all of the call logs heard in CA trial?

Wendi’s lawyers are going to have all of this freshly formatted. They better have a strategy to try to get around this.

I was thinking about how significant Jeff Lacasse's testimony is that Wendi confided in him that her brother had actually investigated what it would cost to hire a hitman to kill her husband and that she was serious and not joking. Did he mention this to the police when he was interviewed? I think it was an earlier trial that he testified he told a friend about this specific comment and that the police had interviewed his friend to confirm that fact. Is my memory of this correct?

Do you think she was setting CA up by telling that to JL? There is no other reason I can think of, but she certainly pointed to CA.

It was always and only about creating apparent distance between Wendi and the crime, consequences to others be damned.

The jury saw Katie earlier with all her “yes ma’am’s”

Now they have heard from her dropping all those ‘F’ bombs in every other word.
