Is the defense and Charlie really going to pursue the ‘I was extorted!’ defense after all this back and forth between DA and CA to KM to SG and then back up? Because it seems unlikely to be believed. To me.

I believe the bitterness was because WA wouldn't talk to her mom. DA lamented (in a phone call) that Wendi wouldn't talk to her anymore and now that the kids were older Wendi didn't need Donna to babysit anymore.

It sounds like Wendi created a protective fortress around herself and ditched her mom in the end.

When she was asked, she actually said the name of the dermatologist doctor buddy of Charlie with a question in her voice.

I just heard it again. After she gives the name of the derm doctor she is asked how it will get to her and she said Harvey.

• A single reasonable doubt juror suffices to cause a mistrial
• If the State is successful at this stage, this case is going to be appealed multiple times up to the Supreme Court of Florida
• If the State prevails at the Supreme Court level, this case will become a famous reference case similar to “People v. Florencio "Frank" Alcalde, a landmark 1944 decision by the Supreme Court of California”

2. Donna Adelson’s defense purports that the relocation in South Florida of the sons of Dan Markel’s is all about Wendi Adelson (following Christopher DeCost’s strategy), and Donna Adelson has nothing to do with the relocation

• This defensive stance (absence of motive) forces the State to reveal the linkages in between the alleged participation of Donna Adelson and Wendi Adelson
• These revelations lead some people to conclude that the arrest of Wendi Adelson is imminent
• The potential for Wendi Adelson’s arrest has not changed from the conviction of Katherine Magbanua to date because there still is no new direct evidence
• It could be the case that a prior Secret Grand Jury has already rejected a potential Wendi Adelson indictment
• Notice that Donna Adelson was indicted by a Grand Jury only after she has already been arrested at Miami Airport
• Absent Donna Adelson’s tentative to abscond to Vietnam, it could be the case that she is not yet arrested to date

3. Donna Adelson’s defense purports that the murder of Dan Markel is a consequence of whatever extortion happened to Charles Adelson and Donne Adelson has nothing to do with the murder

• This defensive stance leads to the unveiling of the evidence alleging participation of Harvey Adelson along Donna Adelson in the murder
• These unveiled allegations lead some people to conclude that the arrest of Harvey Adelson is imminent
• The potential for Harvey Adelson’s indictment by a Grand Jury has not changed because there are no direct evidence linking him to the murder

Maybe already have had a response to this (if so sorry) but the judge cited the fact she must assist in her own defense. That could be grounds to appeal if later evidence shows her without her headphones on appearing clueless maybe one of our experts could chime in here?

I'm a bit surprised that the Adelson's retained her. She's underwhelming (to say the least). Wasn't she a former judge? Her questions lead to no where and she seems distracted (forgetting her train of thought). Looking forward to Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. Maybe she'll pick up the speed a little and impress us!

But she is a local attorney who speaks with a southern accent and maybe the Adelsons figured that she would connect better with a jury chosen from the local population. Keep in mind that Tallahassee is culturally different from much of Florida. It is much more southern in character, very different from most other metro areas in Florida. If the Adelsons had hired a slick, expensive lawyer from Miami, the jurors might not have liked their choice. Furthermore, maybe the Adelsons could no longer afford a high priced lawyer. But poor Jackie is out of her league in trying to defend a client enmeshed in a complicated murder conspiracy. And yes, she is a former judge who was forced to retire by the Florida Supreme Court. Is it too late for Donna to change her plea?

Not really sure what you are getting at.
1. The case against DA is circumstantial, So what? The inference from your post is if evidence is circumstantial then it's unimportant and relevance is insignificant. Circumstantial evidence (CE) is directly in proportion to volume. i.e 2 pieces of CE are meaningless, 20 pieces are significant. In Donna's case there must be over 60 pieces of CE.

2.DA had a pathological obsession with WA and the boys moving to Miami.

3. The State can easily prove there was no extortion and DA knew there was no extortion.

Re HA and WA's simultaneous arrest, IMO it makes sense. They are ready to get WA now and HA is a flight/unalive risk. Once DA is convicted and WA arrested, HA will unalive himself.
